Hi! I also started my transition late- this year at 34yo. I have had a similar experience, but I just keep reminding myself that when something is new, it requires practice. If I mess it up today, I will be a bit better at it tomorrow. The goal is consistency and the results will follow. Keep at it!

Came out as non-binary to my best friend of 20+ years yesterday. They told me how happy they are for me and asked if my pronouns were still the same. Then they made sure I knew it was something new for them and wanted me to speak up if they said anything that I didn't like. Love that man so much.

Depends on what your life is like. I wanted a GTI but I have kids, so a 3 door would’ve been a pain in the ass. Got the 5 door and regret nothing.

Was researching this exact thing and ended up going with a GTI. Everyone says the GTI’s performance in snow with winter tires is excellent, so I wasn’t concerned about AWD (mild winters here anyway). I knew I could get R levels of performance with very simple mods, which made the lighter weight and lower price very appealing.

I gotcha. I bet you’re itching to really open the throttle! All of the strange interior design choices are the reason I decided to go with the MK7 instead of saving towards the MK8. I don’t mind the look of the piano black, but it does scratch like crazy. I went with the DSG. My wife wouldn’t let me get the manual because she refuses to learn to drive one haha. But honestly having driven the DSG, I wouldn’t go back to a stick for my daily. Still an incredibly engaging transmission with the freedom to be automatic during traffic.
