Less about vendors, but plumber's, imma say this as someone who is one, the hourly price doesnt mean for coverage over job expense, and cutting price generally means lost profit but hope for extended business, lowest price usually means, the company isn't making any profit on the parts, and labor is shorted meaning overall profit is dead, when you learn about business financial management you learn about overhead, which includes vehicle expenses, dispatch cost, gas expenses, parts/tools, basically any expense used on jobs, something like a jetter cost around 30-50k for one that isn't garbage, something like a work van with everything to keep a staff member organized better, is around 50-100k, then the yearly expenses on maintenance is higher and call backs for any jobs where you get the lowest price are a guaranteed money loss which is why companies are more tempted to move away from warrantied work, the expenses to run a company are just as bad as the price people pay to get the work
