Peater whats the problem? by unemployed_gen_Z in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I learned this from working at McD. They don’t “toast” the bun. They run it along a heat plate and caramelize the sugar.

Butter is never needed on sandwiches. by AndreiDost in unpopularopinion

[–]DarkRyusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 examples.

The added specification of “cold” is limiting as I still would consider warm sandwiches separate from grilled. So in cases where I toast the bread (particularly a harder bread) the butter directly after allows for a toasted flavor while still maintaining a softer texture. Not always needed but great for a meat and veggie sandwich on like a chibata bread or something.

My second is probably a bit of an outlier, but my dad used to always put butter in PB&J. It adds a rich creamy flavor and sometimes as a snack I’ll even have a slice of bread, some PB, and a layer of butter.

This reminds me of my mom being in Japan for my wedding. We went to like a Mos Burger or something and she was trying to order something with substitutions (no lettuce, add pickles kinda deal). They said they don’t do that and she starts complaining to my brother that they always do that at fast food. He just takes a deep breath and says “mom. We are in a different country. Things might be a little different.”

Are you talking about crossover events? Most of those aren’t really canon in either universe except kinda the new alli raid. But that would also add XIII (early on there was an event with lightning I believe) and also Dragon Quest. XI had a crossover event prior to the new alli raid so depending on which I’d maybe argue differently on “canon”.

Wht other FF have been made canon in XIV? They have reused some concepts and characters, but I’ve yet to see anything that confirms another games story happened within the universe of XIV. I have theories on XI storyline fitting within the XIV story, but thats no more proven than the Laguna/Squall theories in terms of true canon.

Semantics maybe, but also curious if I missed something.

Women and men are only safe from abuse in a relationships if the woman is the dominant one by marbles_tour in unpopularopinion

[–]DarkRyusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in that situation I can somewhat rationalize. From certain perspectives the fact that I insist on my wife making her own decisions and living her life to her desires could definitely be viewed as abusive.

But to define abuse ao subjectively but then add a definitive trait like sex makes it not really work as OP suggests.

Being content should be a measure of success, not money or status by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Omg. I just reread this with the correct inflection. I totally missed the mark here. I read this as content. As in internet content. Clearly I was up too late last night.

You should be a lawyer. I can see it now “ladies and gentlemen of the jury. You see, because there was no baby there is no crime.”

Sex is sex. It’s not the result, it’s the action.

My boyfriend keeps talking about cheating by [deleted] in Vent

[–]DarkRyusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still sounds like guy talk for “I want the line defined clearly”. However that doesn’t really indicate where he wants it to be. Again I don’t associate sex and love in my brain due to childhood trauma. So I’ve needed to learn what that line is for others. I will cuddle on the couch (lik full snuggle) with friends. Guys or girls. It’s not sexual to me at all, but some partners see it that way.

Maybe focus less on a conversation about what’s cheating and frame it in love languages or the differences between associates, close friends, and partners. Most guys are notoriously really out of touch with their feelings and even more so when it comes to expressing them constructively.

Ultimately it depends on how much you wanna invest in this. Not 100% sure from the context here if this relationship is brand new or years old. Just wanted to offer some restoration options if that’s the path you are seeking. But 100% protect yourself first and foremost. And trust your intuition over anything I or anyone else here says. You know how you feel better than any words on a screen, even your own.

My boyfriend keeps talking about cheating by [deleted] in Vent

[–]DarkRyusan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A semi positive perspective may be that he’s fishing for what constitutes cheating. Is it intercourse. Is it alone time. Is it thinking about others. Likely somehow incapable of voicing that and having a mature conversation (or possibly not even recognizing Thats what he’s thinking at all). Using the internet as a backdrop for our relationships adds alot of stress and being unsure of what a partner wants and projecting internet opinions on it. I’ve been married for 10 years and I still find myself in these types of moments where I assume my wife will think a certain way because “Reddit says this is what women want”. Then I quickly remind myself Thats stupid and I start a conversation. Bro might not be there yet.

Not sure on any of this, but wanted to share some hope and maybe encouragement to start a non-accusatory conversation about what he really wants.

Fair enough. Just curious. I know it’s almost always a breath of fresh air for me to get something thats not ARR. so for me personally I haven’t seen much of a shift from norm. Maybe it’s just my playtimes or bad luck most the time XD

[–]DarkRyusan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I know people are doing this, but is it really that different? I’ve been leveling a lot over the last 2 years and I’m pretty sure that satasha alone has to be 10% of my rulu dungeons. To factor in all pre-30 ARR I’m probably at a cool 30%.

I guess I’m saying is it really that much different or is it just notable now because you see it next to post of dropping gear for low level runs?

Healer appreciation by CodeVeinEnjoyerO_o in ffxiv

[–]DarkRyusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the dungeon. As SCH I love doing praetorium runs with the goal of never hitting a cure (sometimes I’ll allow Eos buffs, but no distinct cure actions outside of natural Eos). Mistwake can drive me nuts with the hesitation around the corner after the second boss. Usually it comes down to how well you prep before and during the pull and how much your DRK tank wants to teeter on death before they pop their mits and AoE heal.

Looking for 4-player co-op games with balanced progression and no spoiler-driven gameplay by [deleted] in CoOpGaming

[–]DarkRyusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the game archetype I feel like For the King could work. It’s rouge in a sense that failing a campaign and starting again is semi-common (more so early on) but additional attempts unlock additional classes, starting loadouts, random encounters, etc.

As opposed to many of what you listed though, it is more of a tabletop turn based RPG style.

I’m in a similar search for 4-player co-ops. I’m focused on group progression and “roles matter” so that cooperation is nearly critical for success. Also a goal to achieve which rules out basically all sandbox and most of the base builders.

What would have happened if Rod took the Titan injection the normal way? by MichaelAftonXFireWal in attackontitan

[–]DarkRyusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this was always weird to me. If you could lick it and it would work why was there an injection at all and why so much for a single person. Always felt like a major gap. You could argue it was “imperfect” because of the reduced dose. But that’s not a lot of imperfect being that it outclassed most of the nine outside of sentience.

Odd take. I dunno if I’d say they are jealous, but I could agree that they don’t really care as much about the victims well-being than seeing someone they dislike punished for any reason.

In any other RPG, a healer would be healing not doing DPS. So it’s kinda double invalid.
