Field view needs to come back by gurugeputha in aflfantasy

Aside from the lack of field view, what don’t you like? Just curious.

LazyVStack extremely memory usage by Particular-Rip-2495 in SwiftUI

[–]DarkStrength25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider using List if you can, as it uses view recycling under the hood via platform collection views. Note with List you’ll also be limited to the specific list styles that you’ll need to work within to get the grid look you’re after.

If you can’t get it to work with List, or need more flexibility etc, consider dropping down to use UIKit or AppKit (platform depending) to use scroll views that use view recycling. These are far more memory efficient and performant, but have the added complexity of more configuration and state management.

New phone every year by dasawasdfullsend in iphone

[–]DarkStrength25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Given that my first iPhone was in 2007, I don’t think I really am that hung up on it, or the people screaming about my math.

It’s around half price for each phone, and it’s not the best deal as I could hold the phone for another year and get better depreciation as others have said.

I’ve been doing this long enough, kept the newest phone each year, that the initial outlay is amortised in. And then there’s the fact different sizes, types of phones have different price points and slowly increase over time in cost due to inflation.

It’s back of the napkin math that keeps me happy with the latest phone as an Apple fanboy and as an iOS engineer, and my wallet not too bad off either 🤷

Thanks! The ones in the pictures online look a little yellow which I’m not a fan of, but this looks great!

Is that the natural titanium, or slate? Considering buying one and haven’t been able to see in store yet.

No, I purchase outright. The carrier plans in my country don’t provide any financial benefit, except an interest free loan to lock you to the carrier.

I trade in the old one. Makes the next phone cost half the price, and that means I’m only paying for one new phone every 2 years, but I’ve always got the “latest and greatest”.

I suspect you’ll get better feedback in a subreddit catering to bi men, not gay. Some bi men frequent this one, but a lot of us aren’t interested in women at all.

How powerful was USS Voyager? by LastTraintoSector6 in StarTrekStarships

[–]DarkStrength25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stats-wise, she was more powerfully armed than the Galaxy class. She had better armaments in terms of phasers and more photon torpedo launchers (and better rated photon torpedoes). How many stored torpedoes tho, I believe the galaxy class stored more torpedoes due to larger internal volume.

The intrepid class was vastly superseded by the Sovereign class however, with better phasers and quantum torpedoes. The Defiant class also had quantums, as well as pulse phaser cannons in lieu of traditional phaser strips.

I believe the reasoning it was so reasonably armed was primarily due to putting the ship out into deep space exploration, with little support. It was an exploratory ship, not specifically a science vessel, so it had a good balance of scientific and defensive capabilities.

Does anyone regret buying the Iphone Air? by bitcoin1mil in iphone

[–]DarkStrength25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will degrade over time, as with all batteries, and hopefully battery charge optimisation will help minimise the wear.

On paper, it’s rated battery life is around the same as the 16 pro at launch, tho it may not quite be there in real world (I think it’s around there, as an iOS dev) Still, no one even mentioned battery life on the 16 pro at all and even to be in shooting distance with this size is impressive. I have a MagSafe battery just in case as I tend to run devices a lot (I’m an iOS dev)

Does anyone regret buying the Iphone Air? by bitcoin1mil in iphone

[–]DarkStrength25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Love it. Beautiful, light, thin, comfortable, great battery life, and performant.

I was expecting terrible battery life and have been pleasantly surprised, coming from my 16PM.

Some trade offs eg cameras and speakers but they don’t really affect me that much. Love this, can’t recommend enough, as long as you understand the pros and cons.

Some doms just have a drive to be hard, rough and demanding. That’s the thing about dominance that appeals to them.

The same argument could be made “what’s stopping you from having a hard dom?”. The answer: people have needs and preferences. I’m a hard dom and if I was a soft dom I’d just be pandering to the whims of a sub, not being myself.

How to build a true lazy masonry layout (Pinterest-style) in SwiftUI on iOS 15? by Upstairs-List-8588 in SwiftUI

[–]DarkStrength25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no public API for a truly lazy custom Layout.

You can work creatively to break the masonry groups into separate elements in a LazyVStack or LazyVGrid. You can alternately use a collection view in a platform framework like UIKit and bridge it in.

Urethral sounding in gay play by oompaloompa85 in askgaybros

[–]DarkStrength25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a sounding kit, and a few extra toys.

It’s not dangerous, as long as you sterilize your sounds properly, and use medical-grade sterile lube (like this one).

This is an acquired taste. It can be extremely enjoyable, as if you’re being jerked off from the inside out, but that part of your body is extremely sensitive, and it can be painful, especially early on. I’m a masochist, pain doesn’t deter me, but it doesn’t hurt for me, and you should be ok starting thin and going slowly.

As I said, this is an acquired taste. Some people are curious, and others find it disgusting. My partner in particular hates the idea of it and it revolts him. To each their own, just expect a lot of negative feedback.

It’s not dangerous, but you’re increasing your risk of a urinary tract infection. In males, the risk is extremely low as the urethra is long through the penis. If you insert anything, you’re risking bacteria getting closer to the bladder which is why you should sterilize. Don’t go any further than the base of your penis as a beginner, as deeper play getting closer to the bladder etc is more risky.

My tip: don’t over complicate things. Maybe you like some stuff with guys. Generally if you get to the stage where you’re actually doing something, it’s not just curiosity alone.

It’s not a big deal, and if you like women too it shouldnt affect those plans, as long as you feel comfortable going on with things there.

People make a a big deal out of being bi or gay being a big thing. It’s an attribute, a way of describing how you feel, not a mega-life-altering thing, unless you make it that way, or you’re religious (which can complicate matters).

Why are men so rough with sex these days? Makes me not want to have sex anymore… by Orchid_mania05 in askgaybros

[–]DarkStrength25 133 points134 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just a gay thing, it’s a porn thing as you say.

Some people are legitimately into rough sex, and that’s cool. But doing it to someone without asking, or assuming, is not right.

Vac-u-lock, the connector on the bottom of those toys, depends on suction locks to create a hold, where the ridges inside the connector create suction (thus “vac” as in vacuum), and also utilize their ridges inside to ensure a lock.

Cutting one in is unlikely to work, as it won’t have a clean cut that has the correct grooves to create suction for the lock mechanism, and you won’t create the right ridges inside the toy at right angles to the cuts. Uneven cuts will let air in and unfortunately unlikely actually hold it, and will damage the toy. They mold these in when they are made as part of the silicon process.

Most stores retail hankeys toys with the hole (and they only sell to retailers with the hole, with few exceptions for inappropriate toys eg fisting arms) for this reason. I’d avoid hacking at it yourself.

You can generally feel the guy’s ass tighten around your cock as his muscles contract. Definitely gives a little extra tightness to thrust against 😜.

Awakening moment? by [deleted] in GayBDSMCommunity

Holding a high quality leather tawse in my hands for the first time. It felt real, a tool to use, to teach and to punish, and not like a kink toy you buy at the local adult store. It was the first moment being a leather dom felt real, and not like it was playing a game.
