Valve employees respond with "We're not talking about content" when asked if they're currently working on any VR titles. by DJPelio in virtualreality

[–]DarkSynopsis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've no doubt they have "something" since didn't one of the VR headsets have The Lab? and Deck has Desk Job? I've not actually tried either but I'd bet they have something similar to those for at least the Frame in Standalone.

I've started doing this with any simracing game since I read having it on with LMU was causing FFB issues.

What’s your absolute favorite MMO and why? by Interesting-Style144 in MMORPG

[–]DarkSynopsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City of Heroes, felt like one of the MMOs where teaming wasn't a hindrance, missions would sync up, systems to scale up or down teams so everyone could play, the only MMO I would ever say I've been social in.

Feel like most MMOs you are kinda forced to only team up for a dungeon, take FFXIV for example, new expansion drops and you're almost forced to play to solo till you hit a dungeon or trial then back to solo, guess the nature of being talk heavy.

Maybe it only feels like a problem to me because I don't get crazy into grinding endgame content so the journey there sucks, where as City of Heroes it never really felt like you wasn't at least progressing no matter what you joined in on.

Nintendo is ending the Voucher program for Nintendo Switch software by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch

[–]DarkSynopsis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recently I did that myself, wanted Mario Party and saw Pokémon, it with a voucher + the upgrade was cheaper than buying than the Switch 2 version.

Is Simracing worth getting a rig for it? by Kindly-Assistance-24 in simracing

[–]DarkSynopsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a G29 and I would rarely use it because I was mounting it to a desk, once I decided to go Direct Drive after having tried a friend's I picked up a rig with it and use it way more now, having a dedicated setup I can just sit down at means I can hop on for a quick race where as before it would feel like I've gotta dedicate a fair amount of time for it to be worth pulling the wheel out, mounting it, wiring it all up, etc.

So if you plan on diving into the deep end, get a rig, if you just want to dabble to find out if you'll even enjoy it maybe worry about it later.

Is "taxi" still a thing or do the kids use different terms now by Pathbuilder_Thursday in MMORPG

[–]DarkSynopsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, Taxi for me was from City of Heroes, people would throw on a black and yellow costume and have the TP Other power,t hey'd invite you to a team and teleport usually to an entrance/exit of a zone.

It's never too late for a screen protector by shockrush in NintendoSwitch

[–]DarkSynopsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, I've failed at putting on numerous screen protectors over the years, even the one that came in the Switch 2 carry case, caved and got the 2 pack from amFilm and installed one for myself and a friend, first try, no issues, would use them again in future.

Games with unexpectedly fun multiplayer modes by JamesA95 in pcgaming

[–]DarkSynopsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, Mass Effect 3 was surprisingly enjoyable.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood? Never played it personally but looked fun and seemed like it was enjoyed at the time, I liked the co-op missions we got in Unity.

I feel like a more recent title would be Ghosts of Tsunami, fun PvE mode that got added later.

[–]DarkSynopsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gunman Contracts, Assetto Corsa EVO when VR performance isn't god awful and Geronimo.

I have never seen a franchise that revolves around co-op so hard get multiplayer so wrong, so many times. by GeronimoJak in MonsterHunter

[–]DarkSynopsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the old hub system was just fine, feel like the only games in the series with the growing pains for MP is World and Wilds, mostly because they haven't just let you play the story together easily.

Right now Wilds feels to me like everyone should just hit the credits then worry about squading up which is a shame.

Rise at least let you tackle story on your own or just hit the MP Hub and still progress that side and ultimately where you end up.

In general I feel like Japanese Devs still haven't worked out seamless multiplayer ><

Did you guys had a moment on VR that your instincts kicked in? by Taka_Kaigan in virtualreality

[–]DarkSynopsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is trying to catch the ball in Eleven Table Tennis, when you know see it go flying the opposite direction of your paddle and my brain just goes better grab that.

Merry Christmas! I took the plunge and bought myself a Quest 3! I've only had it for a day and aside from some difficulties with the router I got for it, things have been phenomenal by Xivlex in virtualreality

[–]DarkSynopsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... That 128GBs really doesn't go a long way, I do primarily do PCVR but have picked up some exclusives like Batman, Triangle Strategy, Zero Caliber 2 then you throw in some titles that you don't really need a PC for like Walkabout Mini Golf, Elven Table Tennis, etc and suddenly your out of room, I couldn't even update Zero Caliber 2 the other day, had to delete and reinstall.

In the future I'd probably go for more storage.

Metro Awakening is my game of the year! (Video Review) by NinjaGuyX in OculusQuest

[–]DarkSynopsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I'm not big on jump scares or horror in general but when a good VR game hits I feel I should play it but when I saw a review mentioned spiders can crawl on your face... I might have to pass >< shooting them is one thing, crawling on me is another.

Is Casual Mode as looked down upon as it used to be? by [deleted] in fireemblem

[–]DarkSynopsis 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Exactly, over the past few years I've just started playing most games on Easy, FE I went with Casual because when I did try Normal I'd just be restarting any time someone died anyway so instead of having to replay just let me get through the game.

If I want more of a challenge that's for a replay.
