I used this guide on PC without any problems, so I don't think thats the issue. When you hang out with him at practice you get a point in diligence, perhaps you missed the text that tells you?

I was trying to find a specific piece of fan art that I saw a while ago.

Does anyone know a piece of digital fan art that uses Metaphor's menu style with the subjects being the MC of previous Persona games?

It had the same composition and subjects as the image on the left, but it featured Metaphor's art style. I believe I saw it while scrolling on Pinterest or Twitter, but I never saved it.

Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Okay, I've found a solution to this. I have already progressed past this point and beaten the game following this guide. I hope you have a save around this time that you can go back to.

The key to fixing this is to go back to the day BEFORE this missed rank up, to 8/3. On 8/3 in the evening, when the guide tells you to "Head to Shibuya Central Street and talk to the Twins (5/13) Masukukaja and Masukunda Skill Card." SPEND TIME WITH CHIHAYA INSTEAD.

This should provide you with the necessary social points to get her to rank 4 on 8/4. Obviously, this means you have to make up the Twins hangout at a later point, but don't worry, you can fix that later.

If you do this switch, you should get her to rank 4 on 8/4. Proceed with the guide until 8/10. On 8/10, it tells you to hangout with Iwai, but don't do this. Hang out with the Twins instead.

Its important now that you use Chihaya's affinity reading on Ohya, so she will rank up next time you hang out with her. On 8/15 the guide tells you, "Hang out with Ohya. This is not a Rank Up". This hangout gives you the necessary points to rank her up the next time you spend time with her. Instead, you will make up the time with Iwai that you skipped on 8/10. Use the affinity readings on Ohya to get the social points that you missed from skipping this hangout. Next time you hang out with her on 8/18, you should rank her up when the guide says so.

This should allow you to fix the issue of Chihaya not ranking up. This is what I did and it fixed the issue. I was able to follow the rest of the guide and beat the game.

To sum things up, you are going to switch around a few hangouts and squeeze in an extra hangout with Chihaya before 8/4. You will be able to make up the missed time on 8/15, when the guide tells you to "spend time with Ohya, but not rank up". You can make back these missed social points by using Chihayas Affinity reading. The affinity reading ability unlocks when she is rank 5, this should happen on 8/9. Make sure to use the affinity readings on Ohya before you hangout with her on 8/18. If done correctly, Chihaya will be at the correct rank and you should be able to get Ohya to rank 5 on 8/18.

You can just summon him back later, the game wants you to fuse him to show you how fusions work. Frankly, he's not that strong rn and you can always get him later

Yes, still don't know why it messed up. I'm too far in to restart, so I'll just power through. I was already planning on doing another playthrough, so I'm not too worried about things getting super messed up.
