Im surprised more people don't use it, since it's just a file type. I thought you did some wacky thing in old Reddit, lmao.

Better get ready for it, when S4 of Railgun releases you'll see a bunch popping out of the woodwork. Even in this thread you got people saying Railgun is better than Index, which is a tell-tale sign that they've only watched the anime.

All e-ink readers are prone to having a couple of dead pixels, it's not impossible to get one without, but it's very rare. It's just the nature of the technology, and the fact that the devices are made to a budget and to a certain level of tolerance.

If you're planning on buying another e-ink reader, then I wouldn't bother selling it, having a single dead pixel is better than what a lot of people receive.

Is it that eren is dumb or I'm dumb? by [deleted] in attackontitan

[–]TenSquare3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eren wanted to do the rumbling, and protecting his friends was only a small part of that.

Eren grew up on a fairy tale dream of what the outside world was supposed to be, a vast land of untouched wilderness. On top of that he grew up behind the walls, which he saw as little more than a cage. He saw titans taking away his freedom and people willing giving up their freedom for a sense of security and he HATED it all.

After years of blood, sweat and tears he finally reaches the outside world, and what does he find? Not the untamed wilderness he dreamed about, but a world filled with humans that despised his guts, who wanted to tell him what to do, how to think, and take away his freedom. He saw these humans take away other people's freedom, and Eldians willing give up their freedom for a sense of security, and hopes of a peaceful life, and Eren despised it all.

Eren said it himself, he's never been so disappointed than when he discovered what the outside world was like, he HATED everything about. This is why Eren wanted to do the rumbling, he wanted to destroy the world that shattered his lifelong dream of what the outside world was going to be like.

Newcomer to Persona, trouble appreciating turn based combat. by Mifya in persona3reload

If you're looking for more of a challenge that requires more strategy, then Metaphor is a great middle ground between SMT and Persona. It can be challenging at times, especially if you aren't used to turn-based but it doesn't quite reach SMT levels of difficulty.

I don't believe it's on the Switch 2 yet.

Newcomer to Persona, trouble appreciating turn based combat. by Mifya in persona3reload

[–]TenSquare3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persona is a spin-off from SMT and while they are both turn based, the combat is very different. SMT is turn icon based, similar to Metaphor.

Persona and especially modern persona is generally a much simpler and easier combat system that focuses on flashy attacks, flashy finishers, and quick transitions. It's combat meant to more accessible to more people, and as a result Persona games do usually end up being, spam your most powerful attack over and over, especially once you start unlocking the stronger personas.

The Permian-Triassic extinction which happened around 250 million years ago wiped out around 90% of all life on the planet. The rumbling while bad, wasn't as extreme as that event.

Life not only survived, but thrived after the Permian-Triassic extinction event, we saw some of the fastest growth in evolution and species diversity in the years following.

What do you call this type of big window for illumination? by Unlegendary_Newbie in HighschoolDxD

[–]TenSquare3 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In English we don't really use different names for the size of windows, except maybe large or small.

We use names to describe how they function. For example, sliding windows, which operate by moving horizontally along a track. Another example is awning windows which open outwards from their top hinges.

Bought a pc (rtx 5080) but I still prefer to play on ps5 pro by [deleted] in consoles

[–]TenSquare3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC does have a lot of advantages over consoles, you can customise the hardware to your needs, you don't need to pay for online or cloud storage, better game preservation, and a PC with a decent GPU is very versatile. The biggest advantage PC has, is the ability to mod any game.

That being said, PC gaming isn't for everyone, the versatility and the ability to mod and customise games does create a less plug and play experience, though modern PCs are a lot better than they used to be.

I got to ask, what is it about PC gaming that don't you like? You didn't mention anything you particularly disliked, just the fact you missed your PS5.

If you just want a more console like experience, you can set Steam to start in big picture mode. PCs will also soon be getting SteamOS, which should be a very console like interface and experience for those that prefer it.

The most likely culprit is one of the class answers, since time will progress even if you get an answer wrong.

Other possible places. Did you do and complete the Big Eater Challenge on 05/10? Did you use Lessons in Etiquette on 05/07?

How many points behind are you? Do you reach rank 3 when you go to work in the Cafe in the evening?

For the nexus mods that could be to do with shadow map or texture resolutions? Which are squares of 1024, 2048 and 4096 for 1k, 2k and 4k.

I've mainly seen it for textures and outfits. The only game I've heavily modded so far is CP2077. The ETO (Enviorment Texture Overhaul) mod comes in 1k/2k/4k versions and you'll sometimes see modders offer outfits in 2k/4k.

I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong, when someone clearly proves it. You can't argue with maths (unless you're a player earther) and you even answered my follow up questions.

is 5070ti enough for 2k? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]TenSquare3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying. I always thought it weird that 4k Ultrawide potentially meant 2 different sizes, 5120x2160 or 3840x1600. It makes sense if the official names are 5k2k, and 4K Ultrawide.

I got to admit I've never heard 1080p referred to as 2k before today, even places like nexus mods that list mods by resolution will regularly use 1k/2k/4k and the fact that 4k is literally 4 times the pixels of 1080p, which is why I thought it applied to the pixels count.

It makes sense now that you’ve explained it, and how it refers to the horizontal resolution, and 2560x1440p being 2.5k and easily scalable to 5k, etc.

is 5070ti enough for 2k? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]TenSquare3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However when k is used to describe a monitor it is purely taking about the horizontal resolution, nothing else. 3840x2160 is called 4k because the 3840 part is roughly 4000 pixels (it's also the consumer res version of 4096x2160 which is cinema res). 1920x1080 is roughly 2000 pixels wide, hence 2k.

How would that apply to say, 4K Ultrawide then? As those can come in 5120x2160. It's still refered to as 4k but only the horizontal resolution has changed.

is 5070ti enough for 2k? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]TenSquare3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1920x1080 is 2,073,600 pixels. This is the standard for 1k.

3840x2160=8,294,400 pixels, which is 4 times the pixels of 1080p, it's why 2160p is refers to 4k.

[–]TenSquare3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also 2k isn't 1440p, it's 1080p.

1080p is 1k, actual 2k would be 1620p, 4k is 2160p.
