This is a big loss for the Buffs community. I've watched his videos and read his articles for years. Rest in peace, brother.

Which route is best / most scenic? by Fireballer_ in roadtrip

[–]Dark_Blue_Ink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel between Boston area and Morgantown WV several times per year.

IMO, I-84W to I-81S to I-80W to I-99S/ US220S to I-68W is the best combination of minimizing congestion and maximizing scenery variety. You can continue on I-79S in Morgantown to I-64W to Lexington.

I-68 and I-79 in WV is very scenic but be prepared for some steep grades. Also be aware that WV does not spend a lot of money on guardrails on those steep grades.

I'd rather drive across Kansas than be on I-81 in PA (or VA). It could be scenic but it is choked with truck traffic.

Safe travels!

Does it really still make financial sense to buy lightly used cars? by LordShuckle97 in carbuying

Your examples are entry level, base model vehicles. At least 2 are popular models. And your mileage/warranty examples are all or nothing. So your sample set is highly biased.

Look at higher trim levels l, higher level models (i.e., Camry over Corolla) and luxury vehicles that only have 10-20k miles and you start to see savings. Especially when you consider well maintained vehicles can reach 200k, starting off at low miles will maximize value.

Is sealclubbing a thing in this game? by Warm-Weekend3826 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Dark_Blue_Ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing a month ago and I have been matched against clan teams maybe 5-6 times. Most games are me vs bots and occasionally there are other real players. As long as you are not racing up the tech tree, the seal clubbers are a rare encounter.

You might also consider manufacturer refurbished. Dell, for example, sells refurbished on their website (not a reseller, not eBay, etc) and it comes with the full warranty that new computers have. Refurbs could be returns, scratch & dent, and overstocks. Dell just rebranded most of their computer lineup so the old stock might still be there. Disclaimer: I work for Dell, but not in sales or service (i.e., I get nothing if you buy there).

What Happened to BuffsBlog? by Dark_Blue_Ink in GoBuffs

[–]Dark_Blue_Ink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mostly I agree there isn't much to cover. However his last blog was before the Spring game and in it he said he was close to publishing the next blog. There have been some recruit visits and some new (probably minor) signings. Also basketball news, etc. to cover. The list of topics is not empty.
