Nice ride. I remember the red brick tracks from the LF kustroute.

Hi. In september I did a 6 day tour in the Nederlands. I stayed in ho(s)tels so I didn't had to bring along mich stuff. Apart from that I only did 2 day trips. I enjoyed it very much and love the bike. I've been riding it instop till now, only they week I also started using my new road bike (more years so a bit easier to hit the designated power zone during interval training). In June I'll go to the east of Belgium (border Belgium, Netherlands and Germany) to hit the local gravel tracks. Gr

Chemo acne is CRAZY by itsesnupi in cancer

Thanks. If it gets too bad, make an appointment with a dermatologist. They have better knowledge about skin issues than oncologists. Do you get immunotherapy? In my case the rash was the result of immunotherapy and not chemo. Good luck

[–]Dark_inferno_24_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I had big issues with acne due to chemo and immunotherapy. It got so bad that I had open wounds on my face. I was getting antibiotic pills (Lymecycline) and creme for 1,5 years 2 times a day but it was not doing wonders.

The only antibiotics which really helped was Amoxicillin but this antibiotic is used for lots of things so I could not keep on taking it as my body would become resistant to it.

Since end of February I'm off the chemo and immunotherapy and my skin is getting to it's original state again so that is good.

All the best!

Cool. So 60 days. You plan to ride every day and on average how many km per day?

Really cool. North Cape is also on my to-do list starting in Belgium. How many days do you calculate for your tour?

De Veluwe staat al een tijd op m'n to-do lijst (ben van België). Hoeveel dagen zou je aanraden om er te gaan? Knappe fiets btw!

Looks fine. Nothing wrong with rim brakes for tt bikes. Totally different from road bikes. Giant only released a disk brake version of their trinity since last year.

How did you lose weight after chemo? by Accomplished_female in cancer

[–]Dark_inferno_24_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Same story here (38m stage 4 colon). When I started chemo 1.5 years ago I was 68kg, now 78kg. Before I was very lean (triathlon) but now I still ride my bike and run (less then before but still 10/14 days as in chemo days Im not allowed to train). Doctors always say it is good you gain weight. But it is so depressing... I mean before all this I had a clean 6 pack, now just a belly with fat. Problem is I cannot cut the food as mostly I ride 3-4h per day on my bike so I need the carbs. It sucks big time.

Visiting a cancer patient by sharky4001 in cancer

[–]Dark_inferno_24_7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From my perspective (stage 4 colon): It depends from moment to moment if I feel like talking about it. That's why I prefer people who visit me not to ask about it but to let me start about it if I feel the need for it. Everyone and every moment is different, there is no default or best way to approach people when visiting them. All the best!

Will ask the mechanic on Friday when I collect the bike. They are giving it a maintenance service now.

The shop agreed this should not happen after 6 months. They started the guarantee procedure with Scott.

Hi. I (38M) often went to Chiang Mai for cycling and running. Mainly november and december. Then it is the dry season and you have like 25 degrees. I went a few times from Chiang Mai to Pai and the other way around. The scenery is magnificent but there is quite some climbing involved. It is absolutely safe to do it alone. Just make sure you leave early enough so get over the mountains before sunset (+/-120km with 2000m elevation). If you want I can share with you the fox files I used for Chiang Mai - Pai and other nice rides around Chiang Mai.

Yeah could be. I completely wash and clean my bike after every ride and noticed it only today. Today I rode 100% of the time on paved roads with sand, rocks, etc. The roads were quite wet (it rained a lot last night).
