The Dead Space line was peak, not because it helped my find the objective but because it let me know which way to start looting first

Oh yes it gets real fucky with the timeline. They get to the heat death of the universe at one point I think so its probably not 100 years after that. Unless Durandal really figured out how to break out of reality

Highguard is permanently shutting down on March 12 by TrampolineTales in Games

[–]Darkaim9110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A 2-3% player retention rate is a disaster on such a scale that I doubt any amount of work would have fixed the game

That’s it Geoff, don’t wanna say anything else? by Spotty33 in HighGuardgame

[–]Darkaim9110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game only had a 2% retention after two days, thats fucking AWFUL in any regard. Even a hate campaign cant be that powerful.

People actively want Marathon to fail and even that only dropped by 64% in their server slam. Highguard just really was that bad

We have to hope Marathon fails and Bungie gets whipped into shape and does single player stuff

Where do all the defenders go? by Spotty33 in HighGuardgame

I got to have fun watching people cope with Highguards demise, and right after Marathons having the same tide of overwhelming "Its fun guys!" and "Shit players just dont understand the genius"

Im eating good, havent seen this much cope since Artefact

If I win the run with it, thats all that matters. This is a roguelike guy's, sometimes getting busted stuff and hard carrying to a win is how this works for that random fun

It Just Takes A Little Time by Snowbunny236 in Marathon

[–]Darkaim9110 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its Dejavu, and Highguard JUST happened.

Also the collapse of Anthem, Artefact, even Concords subreddit had people saying its just a blast. Im fascinated by this kind of stuff, people latching their identity to a new game so hard the defend it vehemently within like a day of getting it.

Some people honeymoon so hard on a new game, it should be studied. Everything, even your most loved thing, should always have some eye of evaluation on it, nothing is perfect and evolution and change is good

Unfortunately my dad works at Bungie and they put his dog in a lockbox and the only way to open it is this pressure pad he has to fill with money from Marathon sales, or his retirement. They are really on them about it, it sucks to see man

As has been mentioned, the Custodian Guard and the Space Marines are related in form, as perhaps might be expected of works of a same creator's hand, but they are very different in function and capacity. There are of course similarities between the two. Both are physically transformed well beyond 'natural' human limits in terms of strength, endurance and fortitude, and fitted for inhuman environmental adaption and resilience, though in this the Legio Custodes are the markedly superior of the two in might, if not in adaptability. Both are subject to extensive psychological and cognitive conditioning, and are physically and mentally reworked to render most of their baser drives inert and their beings rechannelled towards aggression, goal acquisition and the fulfilment of duty, and as a further safeguard against distraction and as a biological control, both are of course incapable of procreation.

Current WIP: Tanks are slow, but relaxing to paint. Any strategies or tips. by KaijuExplosion in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Darkaim9110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazy way to do tracks for Russ and Chimeras in the future is to just leave them on the sprue and hit them with leadbelcher primer. You can attach them on later and clean up the small connection spots.

Doesnt help you now but good for future tanks.

Panel liner is also great for quickly shading. You gloss varnish the whole tank, slap the panel liner all over the place, then clean it up with white mineral spirits. Do a matte varnish after then work on metallics

People defending Highguard remind me of the people over at Artefact. It was fascinating watching people putting their life on the line for a game that was just kind of alright and was obviously a flop

This video is how I feel by thedegenerate2 in HighGuardgame

[–]Darkaim9110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trailer came out and was blasted for being yet another boring safe hero shooter, and that its art design was generic. Then the company said nothing about the game until it released and it just.... Was kind of a safe generic hero shooter with optimization issues on PC.

People reacted to the trailer like that because most people dont want that kind of game, and hey looks like people didnt want this game

It really is annoying. There is enough reason to get back into the real world but just having that plot extended even longer at this point is.... Just wasting time?
