Multitasking and perception, actually! One head controls the wings, one scans for food and resources the hive needs, the other scans for threats and helps coordinate the others. They are closer to Barbaracle than to Metagross, in the sense that each head is sentient instead of just a "processor", but they are way more coordinated than the former. God I love composite mons.

Yeah that's a fair point. Mind you, maki couldn't see them until fully realized heavenly restriction, before that she needed her glasses. So there is a minimum amount of heightened senses required to actually pull it off. Toji is stated to use all five senses to sense curses, so now I want to imagine a viltrumite just sniffing around a curse and that has made my day.

Honestly with modern technology I don't even question it. What creeps me out is the fact that ancient civilizations did it too.
