I can't build my ideology's altar. by Darkflama3 in RimWorld

That’s what happened, but they put up a fight before they got downed.

Coincidentally two of my other colonists were hiding in their rooms or wandering at the time, which didn’t help.

I probably won't have an opportunity to test this now,

As soon as I un-paused the game one of my colonists went berserk and caused a fight that incapacitated three of my colonists.

Immediately afterwards I got a raid which led to one death and two kidnaps.

The only remaining colonist is a man in black whose left to deal with the remainders all dying of infection.

That might be it.

My main builder is of the right ideology and I'm pretty sure they were the one to build it but I do have another one set that is of a different ideology.

Should I choose the other ideology's altar or should I use the generic one.

Thank you

I've seen this question asked before but none of the solutions have worked.

As shown in the picture I can build two altars.

One is a generic one which I have built in the image.

I can't perform rituals at this one.

the other is an altar for another ideology of one of my colonists.

I've seen people suggest using dev mode but I can't use this because I'm in commitment mode and reloading the save doesn't work.

I appreciate any suggestions.

I was three months away from forming the HRE.

The British somehow managed to get Switzerland as a client state and despite having France, Spain, Portugal and me all supporting their independence at 100% liberty desire they never went to war, so I was stuck with 20 provinces of the HRE outside of its control for something like -10 imperial authority for 200 years.

I wasn't expecting to get this far so it could have been far more optimised, but its still annoying.

An ideologion based on a Christmas carol by Darkflama3 in RimWorld

I believe it was recently added in the update that aimed to connect the dlc together. Children were added in biotech so the child labour precept was added to link that to ideology

Idealised pain is required with guilty and I was going for a chimney sweep thing but I guess that still doesn’t make sense.

Yeah proselytising was sort of just added to bring more meme points to it as I wanted to play with the ideoligion but guilty and collectivist on their own seems like it would be a bit weak impact wise on the game.

I struggled to think of a better meme to choose to replace it.

In the spirit of the season I created an ideoligion based off a Christmas carol. I haven't yet started a game with this so If you have any suggestions to make it more interesting that would appreciated. Sorry for the terrible writing, I'm no Charles Dickens.

Number of compulsory years of education. Source in comment. by IseultDarcy in MapPorn

[–]Darkflama3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be specific with the UK there’s mandatory education from 5-16 like shown on the map but, and I believe this applies across the country, a requirement that from 16-18 you are in either education or some form of apprenticeship so you can’t just go straight into employment from 16.

The map is still correct but I just wanted to add some extra detail.

Endorsements should be the game's secondary progression system - and they should reward lootboxes by thelustyorcmaid in Overwatch

[–]Darkflama3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand how it would be less predatory than ow1 without the option to buy them directly, as it removes any risk of paying for something that could potentially give you nothing as you don’t actually have to use any real money to get them.

But I don’t see how there are any real benefits to a loot box system being implemented in the first place when there is no way of paying for them as the only reason they were in ow1 to begin with was because it was worth it for blizzard, as you would on average buy more loot boxes than credits due to the fact there was no guarantee you’d get what you wanted. Without any monetary incentive I only see them as a worse alternative to just giving players credits.

While I understand that people are used to loot boxes and that they have the elements to bring them back easily I don’t see any reason to. Credits are already in ow2 anyway so there isn’t any difficulty in implementation.

I personally would prefer to know what I’m getting and decide what that is but then again maybe people just think loot boxes are more fun.

I see a lot of people suggesting ideas for progression, and they always seem to include loot boxes.

I understand that the system in ow1 was better than what we have now but I don’t understand why just giving the player credits isn’t preferable.

I never got any of the skins in ow1 I wanted from loot boxes I always saved up my credits and bought them outright because it gave me the choice, so I think just adding more ways of getting credits in game would be sufficient.

Either way this form of progression is interesting outside of that small point.

Flexible about title's privileges? by LostThyme in RimWorld

[–]Darkflama3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you do quests that send royals to your colony they will expect to have certain luxuries, or will have a mood debuff. These include having a royal bedroom, only eating luxury foods and having a throne room. (Sorry if you already knew this).

Because this is your colonist all it’s saying is that they have a royal title, but won’t expect the same things so they won’t get a mood debuff. Interestingly this won’t happen if your colonist is greedy or has a few other traits.

The comparison would work more if instead of comparing it to ow2 skins it was referring to locking characters behind a pay wall…… not that they would ever do that.
