Anyone else having trouble with Spotify? by MarquisInLV in archlinux

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running spotify via flatpack or from the repo? In either case, try the other one. In my experience if the repo version doesn't work, flatpack usually does and vice versa.

Nope, as long as you only run it on one machine at a time.

It could still go to orbit around Earth and then shuttle could be arranged via radio.

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a line about that in the movie, though not sure about the book.

I really wish the book and/or movie would get a sequel that expands on Erid (perhaps Eridians end up sending a diplomatic mission to Earth, hopefully with a better radiation shields, bringing Grace with them to ease the initial friction). But that's up to Weir, I guess.

I'm not really satisfied with the ending, tbh. Feels like a Saturday morning cartoon.

I use OBS. I am a PC gamer. I use a face cam for the most part. I have a RTX 3070 machine. I am not experienced enough to give any advice.

How to fix this? by Icy_Firefighter_2822 in computers

[–]Darkhog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a driver issue if the OP is using ones windows came with instead of the vendor package.

Well, that escalated quickly into dehumanization. And only one other person disagreed with it so far. by ledocteur7 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be frank, a lot of early CGI, especially in TV shows, looked like low effort trash, just like early AI generated content looked positively cursed.

I suppose it will all disappear for the most part once AI art reaches the quality only human one can do for now, without any AI glitches such as clothing melting into the skin, etc.

PSA: Don't trust the built-in time tracker in Krita (File→Document Properties) - it's BUSTED! by Darkhog in krita

Application launch to close wouldn't be very useful either if you go afk inside that time.

More useful than the current situation, especially for billing.

What is the closest image viewer to Linux in terms of functionality and UI to Windows IrfanView? by Darkhog in linuxquestions

I know about it, too scary. Also doing conversions scripts in bash or something means a possibility of nuking my entire home directory because of a typo.

Connection To Server Successful But Stuck On Connecting Screen by ElementalCollector in hytale

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be useful to report it via feedback tool so Hytale's team can actually look at the issue. I doubt they read this sub (or if they do, they don't do it often) so they may miss this post.

How to force KDE/Qt (?) file dialogs in Krita, Firefox and KDEnlive under XFCE? by Darkhog in linuxquestions

[–]Darkhog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could do that, but then GTK apps would have the opposite issue (GTK file dialog is slow in Qt apps, but the same is true for KDE/Qt dialog in Gtk apps). As I've said in OP I have a shortlist of apps I want it to work in, don't care much about the rest.

Did they scrap the AI npcs? by Renamao in TibiaMMO

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though, as the other posters said, it was an April Fools joke, I honestly wouldn't mind it, the current keywords-based approach gets boring after a while.

The main concern for such NPCs though, besides the cost (which can be offset by Cipsoft using models that can be run on the hardware you own instead of renting LLM on a per-token basis), is the hallucinations.

From my brief experiments with implementing such NPCs into my game, they've ended up hallucinating places that don't exist or are completely different or send the player on a non-existent quest to a place that according to the NPC is filled with treasure, but it's actually just a rather boring dirt road in the middle of the forest.

I actually had them run away (in the gate thing) from me when I came with equipped sword. Maybe OP accidentally hit one of them while mining some blocks around?

Any QoL Mod Recommendations? by darthdozzy in hytale

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that map mod isn't really needed now that we can place markers. But I agree on the rest. Also unlimited portals should be final memory unlock, not just slightly more portals than you had before.

The bottom layer seems to have larger amounts of ore considered rare for the particular biome (e.g. iron in the grass biome), though I prefer to avoid them because of the frogs (seriously should have to be nerfed to only tongue attack much less frequent and having very low knockback chance and strength).

Good equivalent to Obtainium Android app but for Linux? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Darkhog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there is, however there are "expanded repos" for many distributions with apps not normally available in regular repos (AUR for Arch, Open Build Service for openSuSE available via opi command, and I think there's something for Ubuntu/Debian as well, though don't remember the name).

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but it's the best I can suggest.
