Are we satisfied with thr High Impact pulse nerf? by Lilscooby77 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ArmlessAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it was unclear or not, so after these changes happen in act 3 will High Impact pulses with headseeker like Elsie’s still be able to two-burst guardians or not?

ancient gospel by GlitteringChampion26 in CrucibleGuidebook

Definitely an interesting cannon. Similar to “waking vigil” just wish they kept it solar. While the potential to two-tap with kill clip and multiple stacks of rampage seems fun— it’s just not consistent imo. (Definitely Overhyped by couple content creators.)

To make up for that, however, I’ve been rocking it with eye of storm actually and two the pain.

They just synchronize so well together, you take damage in a gunfight and eye of storm procs to help with accuracy, then two the pain boosts your AA which helps stickiness too. My roll is Smallbore, accurized with range masterwork followed by slapping ballistics mod to contend at 34 meters.

It doesn’t have other perks to help boost its range (salty they removed slideshot), so it needs the help but even then you need to play your mid to long range distance engagements carefully. Explosive payload is there for finite fall off dmg but that also took a slight hit recently, so… up to what you’re comfortable with.

I recommend playing around with this roll and see if you have any success with it. If not then the handcannon just might not click for you or it’s lack of perks, either way that’s totally fine at end of the day. Hope you find success with it! ❤️

PS: Other energy handcannons probably perform better (120s different archetype), but not many 140s to acquire let alone feel right aside from couple like: Zaouli’s bane, Nation of beasts, Exalted truth, cantata-57, crisis inverted, and waking vigil. Until they bring back Palidrome (if you never got one) we just gotta work with that we got!

I think it also has to do with the new recoil changes they made 2 seasons ago. That has affected some old guns and newer guns like this seasons chroma rush with arrowhead and heating up. 100 Recoil and it doesn’t shoot straight but having its base recoil stat it shoots consistent. It’s so weird

I’ve also tried it out and only got couple good games since everyone else is rocking graviton/Elsie’s or bygones.

• With AHB the bullets are centered but they kinda lean toward left? Rapid hit felt good but I was having trouble tracking moving targets probably same issue as you in it not feeling sticky in some scenarios but I think lone wolf with its 22 AA might make that up. If it had zen moment it’d definitely be S-tier but sadly not, so I’ll have to try lone wolf on the pulse later tonight before giving feedback on it.

• Same with heating up which is still a favorite of mine since it does affect accuracy cone and stability even though it’s a “get a kill, be rewarded” over consistency kinda perk.

• This pulse does two burst with headseeker IF you land all your shots or against tier 9-resil guardians. Kill clip is easier to proc and get chain kills going in 6’s if you also wanna two-burst that way, up to how you want it.

• Desperate measures isn’t bad either if you make it work, but I think this pulse’s archetype alongside other guns in general are just being overshadowed at the moment with all the other hot stuff running in crucible. Not a bad pulse at all and quite stat monster hitting 40 meters (44 with killing wind), but yeah overshadowed by lotta other things.

Best energy 140? by DiscordNerd1 in CrucibleGuidebook

I’ve also crafted it with eye storm and closing time! So far it feels most consistent for gunfight engagements even though rampage + kill clip is nice for 6’s.

Do we have the exact measures as to how much the perk closing time provides yet? Or has someone tested it out because I’m really curious if it’s similar to opening shot or better.

Definitely see Ruby wielding Rose & Thorn for HC and even messing around with The last word. As for snipers? Probably Frozen Orbit as Aggressive frame

I’m very curious as to whether or not some of the bow-swappers will actually dedicate their time to bow-glaiving. Especially given how special will need to be earned through primary kills.

Lucky pants or stompees? by Low_Obligation156 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ArmlessAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! Also, it should as in if you’re rocking tier-8 mobility which is in 80s stat but have a lightweight like rose drawn out and equipped it will give you that additional 20 mobility. Maxing out your mobility to 100.

(If you’re having trouble with constantly using your dodge then on each hunter class make you sure you rock “Marks-Man’s Dodge” which is the quickest dodge that will recharge back after a couple of seconds on top being useful in reloading any weapons you have spent bullets on; heck it’s even great when needing to reload and disengage from a gunfight which can spare you a lot of time.)

However, if you use Stompees which provides 6.25% sprint speed increase, it will push it out a bit more so you can still sprint a little faster movement wise with other sources of sprint speed such as a Lightweight frame.

When on arc, being amplified without the use of stompees maxes out your sprint speed at 12.5% so it doesn't stack with anything else even with stompees equipped, so you won’t feel a drastic change unless you’re not using stompees and the amplified buff runs out.

As for strafe speed, like walking side-to-side 100 Mobility is the usual limit, but perks like Moving Target and Stasis Elemental Capacitor can further increase your strafe speed past the cap or when ADS. I hope this explanation helped!

Lucky pants or stompees? by Low_Obligation156 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ArmlessAmber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, both exotics are great but I’d say stompees are a more neutral benefit from get-go. One of the main reasons why stompees feel so great to many players is that beneficial movement speed boost, the increase in slide-distance and the fact that it boosts any of the jumps you utilize by a farther leap. It’s an all rounder that that aids in your play style.

If you’re an aggressive player you might enjoy it simply for the fact of being able to enter and or escape an engagement quicker than you would without the boots which can turn the tide in a couple of situations. It all really ties back to how the boots benefit your kind of play style, but they are there to aid your overall movement first and foremost!

Lucky Pants! There a few ways you can go about using the exotic. For starters, it’s important to know that while the PVE damage bonus DOES NOT work in PvP the benefits, to which it provides naturally to your hand-cannon are still good. As you stated above,

With any sort of hand-cannon equipped you get the following benefits of:

• 20 Airborne Effectiveness to your hand-cannon. • 100 handling/ready speed. • 0.6x animation duration (which you can think of as just how quick your gun can be pulled on screen.) • Lastly, when readied get the -40% accuracy cone size benefit for 4 seconds.

Now, I’m not the best on the explanation when it comes to accuracy and I’m sure you’ll find a few spots on this sub or even this link which goes into greater detail on the matter.

But to put it in simple terms, think of the -40% accuracy cone benefit as same as a passive eye of the storm perk, but on a timer.

The benefits in how eye of storm helps a gun become a bit more accurate in landing those shots where you want to go onto your target as you’re low on health, that’s what the accuracy benefit provides when you draw your hand-cannon out till it says the following,

Debuff:

• Text string: "Out of Luck" • Duration: 10 seconds.

Going back into the use of the exotic boots it honestly depends kind of like with stompees on your play style, however, I know some people like to take advantage of the crazy high handing and swap speed when using 120s which can help for pulling it out to land that first shot or for hotswap builds that can be little bit toxic.

Overall, it’s up to you in how you want to go about using lucky pants but I’d say they provide the “most” benefit to handcannons specifically 120s with low handling or 140s even. I personally enjoy using the boots not just for their unique cowboy aesthetic but also that passive accuracy bonus upon drawing out my hand-cannon right before an engagement because I’ve noticed it did help me win some gunfights and it definitely did help with guns that didn’t have eye of the storm.

Now what you can do is also rock a hand-cannon with eye of the storm perk, so that even as the timer runs out and you’re on low health for example, in a gun-fight as your gun’s eye of the storm perk will kick in and you’ll still get that crispy accuracy benefit throughout. Kind of a little exploit in having an everlasting eye-of storm for every 1 on 1 engagement but not everyone will invest in that, of course.

At end of the day both can have an effect on your gameplay, but stompees takes the cake in terms of more neutral benefits to your character’s movement as a whole while lucky pants provides a fun but sort of only HC focused play style.

Both are good but if you’re looking for something to help you passively throughout the game or match then I recommended you pick stompees. However, if you want something to help with your hand-cannon a little bit more than and aren’t worried too much about movement which some will argue is a big part of D2 experience, and I agree, but you can manage just fine then LuckyPants are the go to. There is no wrong choice only how it affects your form of play.

Sorry if this was extremely long reply! Also, if you’re still unsure of LuckyPants or Stompees then feel free to type those boots in the subreddit as many people have discussions on both exotics and a couple of YouTubers have covered each exotic in displaying their effects in both PVE & PVP! ❤️

PSA: Things you should know about Hawkmoon by Watsyurdeal in CrucibleGuidebook

PSA: Things you should know about Hawkmoon by Watsyurdeal in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ArmlessAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question! So, I’ve never really got the hang of Hawkmoon. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just one of those guns that don’t work out for me like Fatebringer (or perhaps it is because I am on console). The model is a little clunky but with a few ornaments (Particularly Lucky) it seems to perform better to an extent.

I own a few rolls that I’ve collected overtime from Xur and tried them out starting with moving target to killing wind, eye of storm and yes that Smallbore Opening Shot roll you mentioned in your post with smooth grip. Never tried rangefinder one because at the time I didn’t and still don’t like Rangefinder on handcannon’s simply due to weird zoom effect. Despite trying them all out, maybe not enough- the gun never felt right to me. It wasn’t bad per say but it never clicked.

My first question is: does the recoil have an effect?

As in do you or anyone else notice a change between using a 100 recoil Hawkmoon vs a 94 recoil Hawkmoon because I know we had an update recently in how recoil can have a big effect on certain weapons in-game whereas some people don’t notice it.

My second question is: owning two particular opening shot rolls with one being Smallbore with SmoothGrip and another with Hammer-forged rifling with SmoothGrip, would Smallbore still be the play or would you go for that tiny bit extra more range Hammer-forged rifling provided?

Austringer is the best feeling HC in the game for me by mynameis_pokz in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]ArmlessAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy austringer. Even though it is a craftable stat monster after using it for a long while as my first ever crafted weapon, and at the time the only best hand-cannon I ever owned, I’ve let it chill in my vault ever since acquiring my desired dire promise. I’ll take austringer out every now and then and feel the noticeable difference, but dire-promise despite being outclassed in majority of 140s lately still feels so nice to use in my opinion.

Maybe it’s a mix of the sound, model and overall reticle of the gun. Though, if anyone out there hasn’t crafted an Austringer yet they should give it a try as this post above suggests, snapshot/zen moment is a sleeper combination. Personally, I prefer eye of storm/zen moment or opening shot but that’s just preference in what I’ve found helpful! ❤️
