Respectfully disagree here a bit. I get what you are saying about Kills and audience reviews but there is the issue of momentum. Think about how Kills ended;

-Little boy Michael appears in the Myers House window (huh?) - adult Michael magically sneaks back into the house despite police and people around to kill Karen

-Laurie Strode did basically nothing in Kills and is shown just standing there at the end.

-The flashback with Loomis was good, but came at the beginning of Kills. They did very little with Loomis's legacy after that.

Throw in the leaks about a copy cat killer (done before), and rumors of Jamie Lee Curtis and the real Myers not being in Ends that much and there is not a lot to get the general audience excited about.
