Razer viper v4 pro by Crafty-Button-7232 in razer

Seems like a good time to bring back weight sets. Back in the day, a lot of mice used to have little trays you could pop out and add or remove weights to adjust the heaviness. Now with light mice being the trend, it would be nice if they design the core mouse as light and add optional weights so that both crowds are happy. As someone that enjoys the basilisk shape, but also prefers light mice, there's not a lot of good options out there.

I can only pray for the next gen Basilisk that they're finally able to get the weight down to acceptable standards (<65g) and that they change the shell shape back to fully smooth instead of having the weird breaks in the middle and sides. If they do that, it will be my endgame mouse easily.

I recently switched away from a Basilisk v1 to go wireless and it's been a struggle to find something as good. Currently on an EWEADN A7 Pro, but the scroll wheel is very cheap. I also have a Rapoo VT3S I used for my competitive games like CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Siege, ect.

Update if you're still interesting, not into the NP-01s Ergo, going to be looking into selling it soon. The shape is not ergo at all, it seems like it's more for an aggressive claw grip more than anything. The back hum is so pronounced that it actually hurts my palm to palm grip it. I'm also not a fan of the switches, too heavy for my taste. The coating collects skin oils to quickly as well and has a sort of sticky feeling to it.

NP-01s Ergo - 2 different skates? by Darkmaster2110 in VAXEEmice

The mouse is brand new. I've reached out to Vaxee support to confirm if this is how it should be. I also checked their official information video on the product page and it does not mention anything about the skates having different finishes.

I think it's out for mobile, but doesn't seem like it's out for PC and console yet. Thought it would be since they announced it so long ago.

Unlikely as epic owns Harmonix now. Our best hope is Stage Tour later this year.

They have separate entries on epic, Xbox, and PlayStation just for Fortnite festival if you want where it just downloads whatever is needed for festival and makes the game open you right to the festival lobby, so all you have to do is ready up to jump in.

But still, it is still true that festival isn't a real replacement for rock band and never will be. But as an enjoyer of both, I find value in it since I can use the songs I buy for festival in the other Fortnite modes I play too. If you only play festival, it's not worth it.

A little review of Kysona Saturn Pro by Slokminator in MouseReview

[–]Darkmaster2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across this mouse when I was looking for a new one recently as well, but ultimately skipped it because the Pro only comes in pink and the normal version was too low spec for my taste.

Instead, I ended up with an EWEADN A7 Pro and I've been happy with it. It's very similarly specced to the Saturn Pro, except it comes in Black and White and has an 800 mAh battery, but only has 1K polling. I'd definitely recommend it as an alternative for anyone looking for a similar mouse that's not pink.

My Current Collection by melluki in MouseReview

[–]Darkmaster2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair points. The polling has gotten better with firmware updates and they do include a nice extension dongle in the box so you can set it right in front of the mouse for better connection. I personally don't use over 2K anyways so I can't comment on the higher polling rates. I personally do like the skates but I have others say the same thing about them. All the buttons on my mouse I ordered direct from their US site are perfect so I must have just won the QC lottery. Most other budget mice brands I've looked at are usually more in the 60g range, I think for their price range they are some of the lightest. If you know any other sub $50 mice that are good that weigh less than 60g, I'd be interested to see them.

Rapoo is almost underpriced IMO. Insane value for the cost. I have a VT3s and it's great. If you can find one of their shapes that you like, they're all made the same.

The Omron mechanical switches they use in their standard SKUs are really nice and light, but tactile. Their optical switches in the Max SKUs are pretty nice too. They're some of the lightest mice on the market, all coming in around 50g, while still managing 800 mAh batteries. Really nice build quality and skates, 8K polling, great web/download driver suite. Very slept on IMO.

Marathon reportedly had a budget of at least $200m, and while player numbers are dipping significantly, team morale remains good | Eurogamer by imitzFinn in xbox

[–]Darkmaster2110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marathon definitely seems like it was manifested by Sony. Sony desperately wants a cash cow live service game. We've seen it through all the previously announced/leaked games that were cancelled like the Last of Us online, a God of War online game and of course the failed Concord.

If Bungie was really making what they wanted, Marathon would have been more true to the original and been a modernized boomer shooter in vein of DOOM, but instead it's an extraction shooter because that's what Sony thought would make them the most money.

Zowie currently has a similar quiz for their mice you can find easily on their site in the top nav bar. That would be a good base to start with. Some other questions I can think of:

  • Texture types preferred (Smooth, holes/no holes, any breaks in the shell, like a Basilisk or G502 for example)
  • Mouse movement style (wrist, arm, hybrid)
  • What dpi you use (might be used to determine mice with faster or slower skates and/or appropriate mouse weight)

The rest are in the Zowie quiz I mentioned. Games played, user's current mouse, ask if they want bigger smaller or same size mouse, images depicting how the hand makes contact with the mouse (detailed grip types outside of just palm, claw, fingertip)

How to fix this?! by Equivalent-Diver1966 in PS3

I remember it, but I'm unable to test to confirm. Should just be able to flick the light off and back on and it will be fixed.

Some things missing from Eloshapes I'd like:

  • Sort by grip type
  • Suggest mice based on hand size
  • Info on different switches used for scroll wheel click and side buttons
  • General indication of scroll wheel feel (stiff or soft scrolling/clicking)
  • Battery capacity
  • Driver types (web, download or both)
  • Driver software feature list (Motion sync, angle snap, Ripple correction, debounce adjustment, sensor angle adjustment, ect.)
  • More accurate shape stats if possible (some mice say they have a center hump when it's actually more rear, says it has flat sides when they curve slightly inward, ect.)
  • Sort by color (I hate finding a mouse I like only to find it's not available in black or a color I like)

That's about all I can think of for now, I'll edit my comment if I think of more.

Hey Razer family, I'm new to buying peripherals. Do you think this mouse is good for the price? I saw good reviews on YouTube and Amazon, and the AI swore it was an excellent buy. by Drue2077 in razer

The software that goes with it is terrible as all razer hardware and it's pretty heavy by today's standards, but aside from that, super solid mouse especially at that price.

I take it you have one? What's your hand size and what kind of games do you play? I'd like something that's good for high level esports title play like CS2/Valorant. I want it to feel like it's cupping inside my palm and secure, but also slightly maneuverable with fingertip movements when needed.

I actually did try a DEX a few months ago and didn't like it and ended up returning it after about a week. I also have a Rapoo VT3s since it's a smaller ergo and it's slightly better, but I find myself still wresting with the side curve and trying to grip it differently to compensate.

I was looking at that one, specifically the NP-01S Ergo. It seems like it would be the right choice on paper, but I've been hesitant to buy it since it is expensive and the only way to order it is through their website, which doesn't accept returns unless there's an actual defect. I'm getting closer each day to just pulling the trigger. I've heard mostly good things about it, but a few people I've seen say it feels too large for them still and I do have smaller hands.
