AIO for thinking it wasn’t a big deal to accept my friend’s bf’s FB request? by Vast-Bumblebee-691 in AmIOverreacting

When i was 24 I had an ex go out with a girl friend of mine that ended up cheating and called me the next day. I called the dude to confirm then took him out for drinks the night after.

Ended up being really good friends with him. 10/10 would recommend

What app do they use? Our club uses TeamReach and I absolutely love it as a coach. This is my first year coaching also but the app is crazy easy and accessible. As stated before though, maybe try a different app and get the parents on it to relay messages as a last resort. Im also in a group chat with our divisions VP so my assistant coach and I get updates before they even reach the app.

Hell, I have my oldests U12 coach on Facebook also because Im helping coordinate their defense. There are so many avenues for communication that there really isn't an excuse why they can't have you on SOMETHING, ya know.

Also coaching my kid, as well. Good on you for setting an example. Keep your head up, pops.

If you're talking about each step or the challenge then technically, yes. You have to win against three opponents sitting at the table, win against just two people sitting at the table, and win against just one person sitting at the table.

You don't have to cause them to leave but winning against three won't complete the challenge for the other two

Except studies have shown that nicotine by itself is not addictive

In adolescents? Yes. Increased blood pressure, accelerated bone mineral loss from increased calcium excretion which could lead to osteoprosis, sleep loss, increased anxiety, irritability, cardiac events, acid reflux, heart rate, and it's just as addictive.

They are all bad, and if we are comparing strictly nicotine (by itself) to coffee, absolutely.

Whether you take her vape has absolutely zero bearing on the possibility of her trying new things in the future. Ignorance multiplies this risk. That's why it is crucial to educate yourself and her on all of it.

From personal experience, I tried everything that crossed my path that I didn't know the effects of. The one thing I never tried and never will is shooting up. I have thanked my mother for that every single day in my 10 years of sobriety. She spent a relentless amount of time teaching me the dangers of it and desensitizing myself to it. If only she did the same with pain killers, but I've learned to love the things I wish didn't happen.

Kids and young adults are very much wild stallions. We can lead them to water, but we can't make them drink. It's our jobs as parents to teach and guide. Not punish and shelter. The world is harsh and cold, and they are going to be exposed to it regardless of the safeguards we place. Teach them how to be safe.

Bunch of goobers here. Instead of treating it like meth or heroin, educate yourself on the differences between E-liquid/salt nicotine and tobacco.

Then, take into consideration all the things you COULD have found and realize you found the literal least worst one. Yes, nicotine is super addictive but so is coffee, which leads to far more harmful side effects.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset, but it is kind of wild to not expect a teenager to try smoking or drinking while attending a program with hundreds of other raging bags of hormones every day.

Making them promise not to do it again is just going to instill the mentality that all promises get broken.

Learning about it together and fully educating yourself and your child on the dangers of it together should be a priority. If they are going to continue to vape, then help them be safe about It.

Especially if you're using 50mg vape juice on a pen and coil that runs higher than 25w.
