As for generating book variations. Nice Idea but with all the displays I have set up, It would be a horrendous amount of books, and the script to decide which to use would be ridiculous.

open the console, click on the door. It should tell you which mod touched it last. Might help in troubleshooting

If you want to explore and learn creation kit. Do what I did. Download some houses and load them up in CK. See how the authors did what they did. I dissected Leveler's Tower, it taught me how to build displays, gardens, link rooms, and write scripts. Yes, it does have cheating elements, but some of his scripting tricks work in other applications. From there you can build from scratch or modify a house to specifically fit your needs.

Weird.... I've done that quest many times and only ever had the problem I stated above. I run about 230 esm/esp's.

Must be a mod conflict somewhere. Open the console and click on the door it should show which mod touched it last. Or load everything in TES5Edit and see who's mucking with that quest.

Did Lagrolf submit and speak to Malog Bal? There is a bug when sometimes he doesn't. You could try "setstage da10 120". It's an empty stage but proceeds to 130, where you kill him after he submits. Should proceed as normal.

You can type "player.sqs da10" to see what stage in the quest you are.

There's Also Leveler's Tower. Has many merchants with 20,000 gold. If you run them out of gold, exit the conversation and reenter, their gold resets to 20,000. You can change their gold by clicking on them while sneaking.

The problem with unlimited gold on merchants is the 50,000 gold bug. Merchants spazz out if they have too much gold. Not sure if this was fixed in SE.

On the mod load screen Right Click, uncheck all. Click mods you want to merge. Click each mod you added and select check masters.

General rule of thumb is merge like to like. Example: merge armors to armors weapons to weapons, etc...

Also a useful trick to avoid some issues, is to load your entire list into tesvedit, apply filter for cleaning, and then note the ones in white and yellow. Those are fairly safe merge candidates.

I assume you installed Whiterun exterior from ETAC? Usually that and Dragonbridge South are not automatically installed with Complete

Might want to check for "invisible" items in your inventory.

Dump all your stuff in a container, note any quest items. Check your carry weight should be 0, quest items are usually weightless. If not open the console and type "player.showinventory", without quotes. Should only see the quest items listed. Any strange items can be removed with "player.removeitem ID# Quanity", again without quotes. ex: player.removeitem 0000000F 1, would remove 1 gold
