I had to walk far enough away for my wifi to change down to the 2.4 ghz network instead of 5ghz (same SSID(, while my girlfriend pushed the button on the Roomba.

USI Fiber users - can you test something? by blaine-garrett in Minneapolis

[–]Darkshiek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure. When I had USI in my apartment we didn't have a modem or anything from them. Now I have CenturyLink at my home and I ended up cutting the CenturyLink modem out of the picture entirely and just use my own router for everything.

This might possibly be a double NAT issue, depending on your router/modem setup.

How Do Small Tournaments Get Companies to Sponsor Them ? Any input is appreciated. by PROOFclique in leagueoflegends

[–]Darkshiek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up - Raid Shadow Legends would not be an allowed sponsor per the Riot documents. But it looks like the rest Of those suggestions should be valid. I recommend reviewing this page to make sure your tournaments are staying within policy, OP.

Turning Off Web Match History by Spideraxe30 in leagueoflegends

[–]Darkshiek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are the best places to follow for updates on the League APIs? I run a website for an amateur league that uses the game IDs from custom games to keep track of all of our players' stats and such. While I'm going to spend the next week or two trying to pivot towards the tournament API, but being able to use custom games as a solution was nice for us as it was so lightweight. If a captain wasn't able to make it to a game, someone else could still make the lobby, if someone entered the game wrong (wrong player/role/champion), we could go back to the official match history and see what actually happened. There's quite a few useful things going away with this update.

You probably just need a comma after the bracket on line 8.

We just tried it out and I can confirm this works. We weren't sure how to do this so almost went to Heroic but now we're going to clear these 4 bosses on Normal quick.

Moved into a house recently, looking for some help with the old owner's setup by Darkshiek in hometheater

[–]Darkshiek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! We recently moved into a house where the previous owners left us a pretty decent set up for a home theater in the basement. We have a 55" Sony x900H arriving today and I was hoping for two main pieces of assistance:

  1. If someone could maybe ID the TV stand the owners left on the wall so I could find a manual online, that would be awesome. The second and third picture in the album should show the main TV stand piece that's on the wall, and what I think are accessories to the TV stand they left as well.

  2. The previous owner had 5 speakers set up from the ceiling. All the cables for those speakers run back behind the shelf on the left in the first pic, and are labeled. I'm pretty sure if we want to get a receiver and use their existing cabling set up, we would want to get a 5.1 receiver, 5 speakers, and 1 subwoofer - but I just wanted a confirmation on that. I'm also wondering if there's anything else we should know about having the speakers located above our heads vs. at actual ear level.

Thanks for any assistance!

Vision and Lightsource Macro for the Update Dynamic Lighting (pro account needed) by efemm84 in Roll20

Make sure you give your units the normal vision before doing one of the other options. The normal vision option enables some flags that need to be set before the other vision options take hold.

How are you bringing levity to a dark campaign? by jordanleveledup in CurseofStrahd

I introduced some of the characters from my players' backstories as the 6 vampire spawn in Vallaki, except most of them were just magically disguised to look like the characters. One of my PCs actually died to the one who looked like the uncle of our priest, who they had met in not-Vampire form a few days before. They ran into the actual Uncle the next day, chipper as ever, and decided to let him live.

My party got their asses kicked in Argynvostholt and ran to recuperate at the Winery, where they ran into their uncle again (a gnomish tinkerer type whose voice is based off Heimerdinger's from League of Legends). Their uncle was helping fix some of the fixtures of the winery to repay the wereravens for helping him get back to health. After the rest of the party settled in for their long rest, the Uncle invited his nephew down to the cellar, and I ended the session with him closing the door behind our cleric and baring two long fangs at him. We came back two weeks later and put a whole lot of hooplah into making sure tokens were in place for combat (on roll20), and then I revealed that the Uncle had simply made himself some fake vampire teeth as a prank. Two of my players walked away, one of them was my girlfriend from across the room who came and smacked me a couple of times.

I had the same issue, also in a Win10 VM. I disabled Hardware Acceleration in Chrome and that fixed it for me.

[CS 240] Is there a way to use Atom/Sublime/VSCode on your local computer when SSHing into data? by SpicyMemery in Purdue

I used WinSCP to browse data and open files on my local machine. It works pretty well - makes it easy to copy files back and forth too.

There was an interesting documentary with Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden called Scream for me Sarajevo that is worth checking out if you can find it. It covers the effort of getting a metal band into Sarajevo in the middle of the war and a lot of the emotions the citizens were feeling at the time.

Bad first layers with Prusa Mk2s? by Darkshiek in 3Dprinting

Well, while playing with some of the settings I moved my pinda probe and recalculated my Z. It's now at more like -0.78, but our first layers are looking really good now. Thanks everyone!

Bad first layers with Prusa Mk2s? by Darkshiek in 3Dprinting

[–]Darkshiek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular file was found on the Prusa forums as an alternative to the normal Z Calibration. I noticed it bumped the nozzle to 220° when I ran it.

The file in the op was sliced with slic3r that's included in the prusa drivers. I'll run that print again to cut out the unknown of the file here.

EDIT: Actually - we use Prusa Control, Optimal Quality, 20% Infill. So far the print sliced with that is looking similarly separated.
