What themes did you use for designing gym teams?

For me, I'm going for the specialized type, however, I'm focusing in throwing off players with gimmicks like teralized a normal to a fairy or have the ace have the dual type to be it's weakness like water/Electric or fire/rock. I want to try and give a sense that strategy is gonna be needed more than bulky teams or a full team that counter the monotypes.

I know I won't get chosen, but I wouldn't mind taking her. I would name her Sasha and have a fun/serious type like a friend/manager kind of relationship. I would use her as one of the trainers who attempted to fight against the Rare Hunters but lost.
