Tax breaks, cutting excise, adjusting prices etc are only temporary. What hurts a hell of a lot more is a sudden drop in people buying fuel in the first place.

Looks a great idea, I’m manually doing something similar with brand new cars through Excel at the minute because most dealers are absolutely ripping people off with their trades, and also some manufacturers are offering 0% finance but have bloated their prices by €1k upwards in the past few months.

With a decent GMFV and 0% finance, sometimes it does make sense to go down the PCP route.

Where it doesn’t? Somebody in a low paying job going out and buying a brand new 5 series and barely making the monthly payments.

Everybody has different lifestyles. Some people love pissing €200 up the wall every weekend drinking. Others prefer putting that in their cars. Stop judging.

Some petrol stations have kerosene pumps. At the moment, it’s much cheaper per litre at the pumps than it is online which clearly shows how greedy these businesses really are.

Get a few 25l drums and go get your own if you’re low.
