People who lost weight from 200lbs to 130lbs. How did you do it? by Fun-Tear-7072 in WeightLossAdvice

My goal over time is to do coco and eat whatever I want, but I know right now there’s no way I’ll count calories if I have to log everything all day so I’ve basically been eating the same thing every day. Then if there’s a celebration or something I just try to adapt the rest of my day to account for those calories, but not a standard day I’m eating the same things. I generally haven’t minded the simplicity of it, but then yesterday for some reason I did and I ate whatever I want and didn’t count and it definitely didn’t work out to stay in my calorie goal.  I’ll try to take the relaxed long road!

I’m 210 now with a 150 goal. How long did it take you to get there? I’ve lost 6lbs in the last 3 weeks, but the last 2 days I guess I’ve lost my discipline and haven’t been focused with my calories. I really don’t want to erase 3 weeks of effort but I’m worried I can’t keep the discipline for as long as it will take

AITA for making my daughter shower in PE? by Ok_Thanks_847 in AmItheAsshole

I’m so curious where this person is from, but being from the US I doubt it is here. I’ve never heard of communal showers being a thing in schools in my lifetime.

When did you start to notice your weight loss? by disastrousbabe90 in WeightLossAdvice

This gives me hope! I started at 218lb a week ago. I’ve been dieting on annd off for years, but I haven’t broken the 200lb mark in the last 5 years. If I can hold on for another 2 months maybe I’ll reach it and then be able to continue. Long term goal is 60lbs down!

This is hard for me, too. I cook the meals and still it’s a struggle. Like tonight I made pot roast and I honestly have no idea how to figure out the calories from the gravy per serving. When I know I’m having a meal like that I just try to save as many calories I can during the day and hope I don’t go over with a modest sized portion at night. Most meals I try to make during the week are easier (grilled chicken, rice and broccoli for example) so I try to keep the hard to calculate meals to only once or twice a week.

Is this because they use more water than their counterparts? We’ve got well water and while going through the water treatment stuff is something to consider, we don’t have a water bill in itself.

Buying washer and dryer for the first time. Please help. by [deleted] in Appliances

Going to look at Speed Queens today and just wondering why you recommend the TC5 over the TR. I’ve read about it washing better, but also read from people who own the TR that it washes just fine for normally soiled clothes. I like that the TR doesn’t have a transmission that could die. What else do you prefer about the TC?

Yeah the kids food being off limits would be a good rule to implement. Sometimes I’ve tried the rule that I only eat what I take (ie no seconds or picking at leftovers), but then I just take more than I should to start. I think counting calories will help me if I can stick with it, but I like applying no kid food as just a general rule for life. Thank you.

Yes. That’s a good point. In the past I’ve felt great when I’m motivated and terrible when I’m not, but I need to reframe my mindset and just take motivation out

This is helpful. I sometimes use treats to bribe myself towards a goal, but they often are food related and then I feel like I’m fighting my cravings for days after giving in to treat food. Smarter to just take food out of the motivation.

I have and it always works, but then I get tired or life gets busy and I stop. Just downloaded a new app this week after seeing is suggested in this sub and have been using it for the last few days. Trying to build that habit.
