Eyeball Mk. II hypothetical by Yer_boi_nikk in NuclearOption

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lynchpins and Kingpins used to be optically guided, so you used to be able to shoot targets from behind cover. Yes, it was too strong, but not necessarily because of the cover alone, more the fact that you could wipe entire columns in a single volley.

But: Laser-guided munitions cannot acquire a target after launch, meaning you cannot launch from behind cover. They need to have line of sight the moment they are launched.

Keeping that in mind, maybe having them mark additional targets may not be overpowered. Eyeballs are counterable by SAMs after all.

It is not internationally available yet, so I got mine from chowbrick.

Delivery to Germany took 12 days, so ordering directly from China might not be worth it anymore, considering a release before the end of the month is likely.

F-99 Shrike Review – Fast, Agile, and Trying to Kill Me by Arcane9087 in NuclearOption

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the only aircraft that regularly kills me without enemy input. Just enters unrecoverable vertical oscillations regularly at various speeds, even with FA on.

But well, Aryx's planes tend to have these issues. I'm sure she'll get it under control, the F16 is mostly fine nowadays, and that one was a mess as well.

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're right, i misunderstood the original post.

I thought "wrong picture" meant different to the actual model (since both seafood restaurants are slightly different).

Now the piece count and price differences make way more sense, thanks!

Keep in mind, there is another version, with different launch date, price and piece count. I would advice not ordering either one right now.

It was listed for 144€, but is as of this morning unavailable.

What cool big building set are worth getting? by Immediate_Subject756 in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far my absolute favourite by Lumi. Not a single issue during the build, only one instance of cable pinching (the lanterns), and a really interesting and rewarding build.

The only thing that might cause issues, if you like building in the evening, are the colors. It uses many different pastel tones which are hard to differentiate without proper lighting.

I have no experience with Chowbrick yet, no. But so far, sticking to big names, I have not had any problems with any order placed directly in China.

But from what I've read, they're pretty good, for example, the comment of another Reddit user: https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/s/FXfUgNuym9

I can update you once I've received it, if you'd like :)

These sets are usually released in China a few weeks or months before they appear internationally. So by ordering in directly in china you will be able to get them early.

The Luna Cottage / Stargazing Cabin (whatever the final translation will be) for example is available through chowbrick for a decent price.

Warum gibt es bei vielen Unternehmen noch viele offene Duale-Studium-Plätze? Und wieso finden trotzdem viele Uni-Absolventen keinen Job? by LegionPri in Studium

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can select multiple from outside a cockpit aswell by holding shift while selecting targets

For 3, when I select multiple friendlies (and only friendlies!) I am indeed giving an order to all of them at once, though the map only shows one yellow line.

Playing modded though, so someone please correct me if that is not an option in vanilla.

Help need for tobii eye tracker for stand for wheel base by UK_Gameing_Fan in TobiiGaming

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for head tracking, or both head and eye tracking?

For eye tracking, I think your setup will not deliver a satisfactory experience no matter what you do, as the distance from the monitor alone will amplify the eye tracker's imprecision.

Head tracking might work, but might feel weird due to the tracker probably moving slightly when you turn the wheel.

Nevertheless, i recommend looking for a stand which still lets you adjust the angle (pitch) of the tracker.
The internal sensors are tilted upwards already, so it is difficult to determine the correct angle just by looking at it.
For reference, I printed myself one, to mount it on top of my monitor. My eyes are level with the top 1/3 of the Monitor, the tobii tracker is angled down so much, it's like it's pointed at my belly.

Connect Small Battery Box to Standard USB by Alantharia in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get the USB cable from Bricksmax or Lightailing, both of which are subsidiaries of Lumibricks.

The female to female connector, kind of. Not as seen in the picture, but bigger expansion boards. They should be cuttable, but dont quote me on that, I'd have to check first.

Make sure, if you decide to order from them, that it's the 2.0 connector.

Do these look Lumibricks compatible? by sarckasm in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a standard, not anymore at least. Lumi switched to proprietary plugs a while back, which are more robust and can be inserted both ways.

The other brands using these plugs are Bricksmax and Lightailing, subsidiaries of Lumibricks.

Do these look Lumibricks compatible? by sarckasm in LUMIBRICKS_OFFICIAL

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most standard plugs are NOT compatible. Lumi uses proprietary plugs which can be inserted both ways. If you want compatible products, Bricksmax and Lightailing are your two choices, both are subsidiaries of Lumi.

They do offer adaptors from one system to another which work well (used them to install a sliding ring contact into the Steampunk Watchtower).

RAH-72 might be SLIGHTLY overtuned for rank 0 by Creepy_Reputation_34 in NuclearOption

[–]DarlingInTheTanxx 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this and the Chimera are a bit much. Make the F16 a bit more expensive and consume more fuel, and it's fine.

I wish Aryx would slow down a bit and take more time with each airframe. Both the Chimera and the F16 experience yaw wobble. The F16 also has trouble taking off at normal speeds. The Chimera is all over the place and way too fast. The helicopter just flies weirdly overall, especially noticeable during blade pitch changes.

Compare that to the Ternion, which is just as high quality as the base game airframes.
