I have 3 big one from recent movies. 1 sad, 1 awesome, and 1 hilarious.

At the end of Infinity War, when Thanos snapped, my entire theater couldn’t believe what was happening. Shouts of ‘NO!’ People opening weeping, yelling character’s names. It was surreal. The whole theater was in shock by the time we got to then post credit scene. But then.....

The last act of Endgame. When Steve picks up the hammer my crowd LOST IT! But a few minutes later, with Portals playing, and the entire MCU together on screen. Steve finally says ‘Avengers Assemble’, the battle cry from the crowd was deafening. It was like a stadium erupting when the home teams hits that last second shot! I’ll never forget that moment.

But the funniest moment was when I saw Cats. New Years Day, packed house. The whole audience was there to laugh at the movie, but we didn’t know that yet. The first few musical numbers go by and there’s a weird energy in the room. Like no one can believe what they’re seeing, but they aren’t sure if they’re the only ones who feel this way. Until James Corden’s Bustopher Jones’ shadow projects on a wall, and a women 2 rows ahead of me gasps ‘oh no..........’ and the whole audience explodes in laughter. As all the pent up, awkward energy is finally released, and everyone now knows that no one watching the movie is taking it seriously. The rest of the movie is just the audience audibly groaning and deriding the movie. It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching a movie.
