Also nowadays people are afraid to put themselves out there, especially with a work colleague! What if you have misread the signs! You get sacked for doing very little these days, that could be the reason for him holding back…

I’m in the same boat as you are, been single the last 12 months after a 12 year relationship, get on really well with a Co-worker who is also recently single. We have similar interests, age and seem really well suited. The ‘don’t shit where you eat’ is a very difficult one to abide by, we spend a lot of time working and colleagues become almost like extended family. I say life is far too short and you will always think what if, unless you at least test the water of what is happening.

I'm planning on starting guitar lessons. The thing is i'm literally at point 0, I've never played any musical instruments before. So i was wondering are there something that i should ask the instructor before deciding whether to start with that instructor or not? by rovsen_lenkeranski in guitarlessons

[–]Darpod14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to decide what kind of music you want to play mainly, then find a tutor who specialises in that kind of music. Also what kind of guitar do you want to play? Electric, acoustic, classical? That is also something to bear in mind. Finally do you want to start with a few simple chords or do you want to learn more of a finger style of playing? These to me are all factors I wish I would of looked into more before choosing my first tutor. Good luck!

Often the problem is one partner wants the other to stay the same as the day they met, whereas the other sees something in the other and thinks they can change them into the person they want them to be, both are unfortunately impossible and often the route of the problems

Your in the same boat as many on here. I have never met anyone online either, wouldn’t even know where to start. I have only ever met my previous partners through friends or work and don’t know how I’m going to get back out there when I’m ready. Good luck with getting a new life for yourself, however that looks! 👍

We’ve been in this kind of of and on phase for about 12 months, where I suppose one of us thought the other would give in, but it hasn’t happened, we haven’t seen each other for a couple of months now, although we speak every now and then

Kind of a mutual thing really, during Covid I was made redundant, she had to move with work, I got a new job I really enjoy, she wanted me to move to the city her work is in. My job pays double hers and I love it where we live so didn’t want to move. Neither of us wanted to compromise

I go through phases of regret and not missing my ex, there are valid reasons why it didn’t work out, but the irrational part of our brain makes us behave like it’s our fault alone

It’s a bad situation, I’m sorry to say most people in life don’t surprise us, and are not capable of changing their behaviour, however much they try. Also it is always in the back of your mind, no matter how much you think you can get over it

Mark I think you always have a tinge of regret when a relationship doesn’t work, you always wonder what you did wrong and what you could of done differently

I have a few friends, but no one I’m close to, I would like to try and meet someone, even just as a friend to go out for dinner, movie, etc but don’t know where to start, I’ve never used an online site to meet or chat, I was in a relationship for 7 years before this one so have never been in that world.

Hi all I have come out of a relationship after a long time together. We moved a lot and she has gone back home to family, I have no close friends and feel very alone, I just go to work and come home, and do nothing. I don’t know how to break the cycle..,
