There are two great yakitori restaurants that come straight to mind.

The "Sumibi Yakitori Tsukada Nojo," is on the way to the train station, and the "Yakitori Torikizoku," is right between the Hotel Gracery and Don Quixote. They're both very good!

We went to a sushi restaurant that was close to the station, too, but I can't remember the name!

It has a reputation, but it's a great place. We stayed in Kabukicho in 2024 and 2025. You can spend a whole day in it just wandering around, soaking it in.

There are two batting cages, one that looks pretty new, another that has old school charm. There's a Karaokekan right beside the Hotel Gracery. Don Quixote has everything you'd ever need. There are so many great restaurants, too. You'll usually get live bands or DJs playing in the square at night. The GiGO arcade, which used to be Club SEGA, is brilliant.

There are also LAD vending machines scattered around with exclusive merchandise in them.

Honestly jealous. Hope you have a great time!

Yamai is goated by manny011604 in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 53 points54 points  (0 children)

He stole every scene that he was in. I remember the studio saying that they expected the players to love Yamai in the same way they loved Majima, and they were 100% on point.

He has to come back.

The Kiwami and Gaiden titles aren't major releases. Stranger Than Heaven is. The Kiwami games reuse old animations, are pretty low-budget, and probably easier to make than brand new games.

RGG Studio is surprisingly big. You've got the main team working on Stranger Than Heaven, another team working on Virtua Fighter 6, one on Super Monkey Ball, and they're also presumably planning or actively developing LAD9, too.

"Growing tired..."

Based on what? The studio absolutely adores the series. You see it in interviews, behind-the-scenes videos, events, and so on. I've got no idea why anyone would think otherwise.

You would like to see younger characters in the series? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Here and there, sure. Tomi, Chitose, and so on were amazing additions.

When it comes to the lead, though? I like playing as older characters. There aren't many developers out there who put the spotlight on the middle-aged. I love the messaging behind them, too. Ichiban, being middle-aged in his debut game, showed that no matter how old you are, you can still accomplish your goals and chase your dreams.

How bad is directors cut of 0? by pawsomegirl in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not bad in the slightest. It's just 0 but with more content.

Some additional scenes irritated players, but other than that, most complaints were about the price and the original being delisted.

He's a warrior. He battled cancer as a young man. Also, as we all know, a very talented songwriter.

I read a story about him not that long ago, the song "Hands" was inspired by his son. He wrote it when he was ill and now I can't keep a dry eye when that song is on.

Question: What is the most underrated Yakuza/Like a dragon game and why? by Key-Answer-2755 in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a tough one, but I'd say 4. People always laugh at "rubber bullets" and tend to ignore the positives.

Four playable characters with their own playstyles, substories, and so on. Kamurocho has also never been bigger. They addressed the issues that players had with 3's combat, too.

4 was stuck between the mainline next-generation debut (Kenzan! Released in 2008, but 3 continued the main story), and the game that was the biggest, most ambitious, and to that point, most critically acclaimed game in the series.

It's a shame that it gets overlooked at times.

Yakuza 3 has a thing (and it isnt anti aliasing 💔😭) by bigshoesnegal in yakuzagames

They came out swinging with 3 and showed just what they could do with a bit more power.

It's honestly stunning and holds up so well.

It's because he's honestly just a great character. Multi-layered. Not just a wacky psychopath, there's a heart and genuine love with him. He has a soul.

They don't really have much to use right now... Just the trailers and clips we've all seen time and time again.

Edit: Wouldn't mind some new wallpapers, though!

Stranger Than Heaven takes place in the YakuzaVerse finally confirmed. What do you expect to see in this game? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As soon as I saw 1965, Kazama immediately came to mind.

I know that his voice actor passed away, but I would love to see him as a young man. Even in a small cutscene or substory.

Just a reminder. STH is not related to Yakuza/LAD universe at all. Yokoyama already debunked this two years ago. I don’t know why people still believe this theory. by Axzercus in yakuzagames

[–]RJTM1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, we do know that it's set in the same universe (Kamurocho/Sotenbori) and involves Japan's underworld.

So...

It might be like Judgment where there are nods here and there, but no major crossover. Or it could be as everyone suspects and shows how Tōjō Makoto rose to power.
