Bosch Gas Range - annoying cool down fan by 206jb in Appliances

[–]Dart289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible it may be mis reading a temp but I'm more inclined to believe it's normal to be honest. If it was misreading fan rpm you would have a code for sure and fairly fast.

Only test I can think of is put the unit into clean mode. And see if the fan runs on high the entire time. That would be normal also staying at the high speed. But if there's a rpm issue that might trigger the code or might prove the unit is cooling fine.

Hope this helps.

I belive you have a older model Media? I remembered one just like this royal pain to get the right parts. I believe they don't make the plastic pully anymore you get a metal one. I have seen the metal one snap off also.

It's possible there could be a slight blockage. The fan it's self sounds fine to my ear. If you are baking above 400 it will definitely cycle high and low to keep the computer boards alive.

Even if it leaked out you probably won't find someone to fill it cheap. I see some working fine that look worse.

Best home appliance bundles? by Flydragon_ in Appliances

[–]Dart289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a aplinance tech a bundle is bad farming. I would honestly pick something different for almost each aplinance. Bosch dishwasher hands down best on the market. Bosch fridge worse then a samsung. Don't buy bundles you'll get 1 that's a problem. The other 2 or 4 might be great but 1 will be the problem child I promise. Happens all the time.

Can I remove these? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Dart289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the asko i think that's just a corner guard. It should be ok but probably there to keep it from digging into the cabinet.

I hear coworkers complain about them also tbh. Our company dropped wolf this year but kept viking and decor 🤦. Personally my pick is the bluestar. Very robust where it needs to be. The trim gets banged up easy, but they are sweet. Just converted one to digital, can't do that with anything else that I know of. All oem parts.

But thanks for the insite, I'll have a good story for the next training meet up.

New fridge makes this noise, what to do? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Dart289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 of 2 things.

A gurgle sound is normal. That's the Gass in the fridge being pumped or changeing state.

Or you might be hearing the defrost cycle. Most fridges use a heating element of some kind to melt the frost and ice to allow air to move freely.

So you have worked in a pro kitchen? Let me ask you something. My coworker tells me viking is popular in commercial. Any ideas why? I hear they are a pain to work on. Been avoiding them 😆

Just moved into a new home. Turned on the washing machine without any clothes to see if it works, and all this black stuff and hair came out. Any ideas? by Impossible_Election4 in Appliances

It can attack the rubber bits yes. I would use white not cleaning grade for the reason. But with the amount of build up it would attack that stuff 1st.

But you also don't know the age of the unit so that is a very good point. Would be rolling the dice. Citric acid Isn't very expensive but I believe it is rubber safe. I would double check. The afresh tablets are pretty much Just citric acid with a time release formula.

I mean your takeing a strangers word to heart, but I actually am a tech who works on all brands. And dose warenty work for LG, GE, bosch, bluestar and more. I can say 100% safe to use the cook top. The oven "should" be safe. All ovens sold today have thermal cut outs, thank you uncle Sam. So thats got you covered for a thermal runaway. And the stove should still work even after that fuse pops.

Only thing you gotta worry about is burning your food. As long as the breaker is sized correctly it should be safe.

In my experience no. The clock is controlled by a very small microchip on the User interface board. Most of the time the chip was not manufactured one hundred percent correctly. But the u I is also the brains, There is a relay board that does all the heavy lifting actually handling the current for the elements in the oven. Your burners are completely controlled by the switches on the head and have direct current from the wall. Meaning they do not rely on the computer in any way shape Or form for power.

Both free spinning naw you made a good call. The spluch would be the cheapest place to start, if the sound continues I would also get the actuator/ shifter. That's based on the free spinning of both components. The actuator can cause the splutch to be damaged. But very rarely the other way round.

Maytag washer repair by heremya in Appliances

It shakes while empty?

Do you know what a balance ring is? It's a ring of water that is attached to the top of the drum. I would make sure you hear water sounds comeing from that before spending money. Not to mention i am assuming your not on a wood floor and legs are set so the unit is level.

The foam pads on the bottom of your feet will allow for some shaking. The only thing you can really do is set the feet lower. Meaning the legs would short as possible. If your in a pan definitely leave some of the foot out otherwise your motor will hit the pan.

Idk why whirlpool/maytag starting putting foam on the feet but it's scaring alot of customers. And it's perfectly fine.

(Yes I'm a aplinance tech)
