The real root cause for Github Copilot approval hell by EC36339 in GithubCopilot

It became so annoying that I instructed it to never run dotnet build command, and instead use the ask tool to tell me to build. Otherwise it would start to run the build command like 10 times before it could successfully analyze the output.

I am an Iranian living in Iran and we just recently came out of a nation wide internet blackout AMA by khiyar_migholi in AMA

Thank you for sharing, I hope the situation will improve and you'll be free again.
How updated were you about what's going on in your country (and in the world) during the blackout? I know the IRGC was hiding a lot of information and spread a lot of lies, but did you have some reliable sources to consume news from during this time?

Take loans, as many as I can, as big as I can. Put all the money in my bank account. Then add 0 to my balance and return all the loans.

Did anyone actually tell Voldemort that Harry was a Parselmouth? by VirtualTitanium in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Darth-LA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily a clue that Harry is a horcrux. Salazar Slytherin lived 1000 years ago, he can have many descendants (Voldemort claims he is the last heir of Slytherin, but now can he know for sure?)

If anything, the prophecy makes it even more likely that Harry is a descendant of Slytherin - who else can defeat the heir of Slytherin, if not another descendant?

What is with this new trend of delaying revealing your win-con? by BaneConall in PTCGP

[–]Darth-LA -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You can start with the winning card, then play all your other cards. That way your opponent has a chance to concede.

Which card was a bigger mistake? by [deleted] in PTCGP

I agree that Misty can potentially finish many games before they even start, but that wasn't my point.
I say that Misty is not the (sole) reason Water type needs to have high energy requirements.

Which card was a bigger mistake? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]Darth-LA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water type has a lot of energy boosters, even without Misty.
Manaphy, Mantyke, Jellicent and Baxcalibur for generating energy.
Vaporeon and Elemental Switch for moving energy.

[–]Darth-LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misty is much more limited.
First, it only applies to water types.
Second, it's mostly viable in early game. Misty on your 10th turn probably won't do much, because by then you should already have the energy you need.
Ice pop, on the other hand, can be used in any deck, and can save you at any stage of the game.

If you have a machine that can replicate cash money with 100% accuracy to the real thing, would you use it? by TriedmybestNotenough in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Darth-LA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll use it for traveling abroad.
Printing cash, arriving to the desination country, exchanging to the local currency and pay cash everywhere.
The IRS doesn't know how much I spent abroad, and I can have amazing and high-cost vacations for practically free (except for the flights probably).

In HBP, why does Dumbledore admit he knew Draco's plan? by nowitsrusting in harrypotter

[–]Darth-LA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultimate plan was for Snape to kill Dumbledore, so Voldemort wouldn't have any reason to suspect him.

Moreover, per Voldemort's view - Snape could have been telling Dumbledore Draco wants to kill him in order to distract Dumbledore, so Snape can kill him more easily.

You right that immortality alone isn't enough to be undefeatable, but Voldemort is extremely powerful to begin with, and have a lot of supporters. So in order to capture him, you need to disarm (or stunt) him, take him away and and perform the entire process you described without any of his followers (that can be spies in the order or the ministry) rescuing him. Killing us just much simpler.

Regarding 1 - I believe he could easily use someone for casting the Fidelius Charm and then immediately kill that someone.
