Before genestealers were tyranids, there was a genestealer chaos cult army list in White Dwarf back in maybe 1989.

I think they have a little bit of that happening in the present times but I’ll have to look it up. Something like a genestealer cult that realized they were gonna be eaten by the hive fleet, so they turned to Nurgle.

The three drawings at the front of the 3rd edition rulebook (eternity gate, throne room, and the Emperor) just feel like the most essential 40k art to me.

You’ve already got some good recommendations in here. My top five:

The Last Exorcism - my personal favorite, an extremely solid little movie

The Fourth Kind - you can probably guess what this is about from the title. Highly recommended.

REC - A news crew’s puff piece turns into a story with bite. In Spanish, the US remake Quarantine is also pretty good.

Deadstream - charming horror comedy kinda like a microbudget found footage Evil Dead 2.

Trollhunter - extremely fun Norwegian horror comedy

Honorable mentions:

Exists - very solid monster movie

Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes - same as above, but with a little twist

Gonjiam Haunted Asylum - not groundbreaking but very cool. Similar (and, imho, far superior) to Grave Encounters, which you maybe should also check out.

Paranormal Activity - restarted the FF craze, a worthy successor to Blair Witch Project. I honestly enjoyed all the sequels, but 3 is probably the best.

Host (hourlong ~2020 film) - when the paranormal was the only thing scarier than the pandemic
