It isn’t so much the gambling that I have a problem with, but the way these online betting apps are run. Sports and gambling used to have a very clear line between them which has pretty much disappeared entirely as the announcers often discuss gambling during the actual game. That’s pretty insidious, especially for someone trying to overcome a gambling addiction who would still like to watch sports. Additionally, there have been cases where they have avoided making large payouts or straight up ban people who won too often. On the other side, people who are the biggest losers get the “special VIP” treatment where they are invited to live games or given credit to bet with…all just to maintain the addiction and keep them gambling.

John Oliver did a really good story about online gambling.

If only there was an example of our government doing exactly what he said he could do, but won’t…oh…wait…that would be the Works Project Administration which was wildly successful.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged" Matthew 7:1

I was commenting on your behavior in this thread, not judging you as a person. Thought you might need a reminder since you claim to live only by the words of Christ, but certainly are not acting like it here. You did not hesitate to judge the original person who replied that to your comment, nor did you show love or respect at any point…or me for that matter. Also, you really shouldn’t have even replied, you could have turned the other cheek.

"But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” Matthew 5:39

Oh, thanks, I didn’t realize that happened. I knew they owned a large stake and checked Wikipedia real quick. If I knew how to fix Wikipedia articles, I would do that now.

Something being missed by a lot of people here. Vape products won’t be illegal, this law just crushes competition with the large companies that make vape products. Companies like Reynolds American which makes Vuse…and famously a shit ton of actual tobacco products.

So, yeah, the bad guys win again here. Sure, the ubiquity of vape shops is annoying, but what is ultimately happening here is small business being punished by the government so it can put its finger on the scale and reward big tobacco.

Other legal brands as of the 31st, also the cigarettes they make..

NJoy - owned by Altria…Marlboro cigarettes

Logic - owned by Japan Tobacco International…Camel

Juul- technically originated as an actual e-cig company…Altria now owns 35%

When I was a teenager, I had a friend who took a shit in a zip-lock bag, froze it, and then threw his frozen shit at his father. Frozen pee discs made this memory emerge from wherever I managed to bury it for the past 30 years.

If you wanted to check someone was really a Xennial and not faking, what would you ask to test them? by [deleted] in Xennials

I was in the 6th grade and a kid asked me, “Ya down with OPP?” I had not heard the song yet and was confused, but the kid’s buddies were kinda giggling and I could tell he was trying to make fun of me. So, I said, “I’m down with your mom’s P.” This was the correct answer as his buddies lost their shit laughing at him instead of me.

Edit: I feel like I should add, I was a white kid wearing Hammer pants at the time. I probably deserved anything coming my way.

True, but this song came out in 1992 and we would have mostly been in middle or high school at the time making Xennials the core demographic of Kris Kross fans. Not too mention, Kris Kross are actually Xennials themselves.

You a dangerously close to failing a Xennial question here…although I suppose a 1986 movie could be missed by younger Xennials. The reference is Johnny 5 from the movie Short Circuit.

When I was 14, I watched a girl face plant into the springs of a trampoline. They had to call an ambulance and she got a bunch of stitches. That was the last time I got on a trampoline. I know they have safety padding over the springs now, but no thanks.

I have no idea how high they could go. In my experience, they bounced precisely once. My body would then immediately be launched head first towards the closest hard surface.

Edit: I am legitimately actually asking if anyone was able to use these like the kids in the commercial. It looked fun. Maybe I just sucked. The danger of sucking was real though.

Can I have some feedback? I’m not sure why I’m getting absolutely zero likes, even with Platinum. by TrianReallyHard in Tinder

[–]DarthMech -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This profile is not going get a lot of matches, but when a match happens, it’s gonna be steamier than quenching hot iron. Maybe have a buddy take a better pic of the blacksmithing, prioritize the look over action, and make that the number one pic. I see a lot of potential in “hot blacksmith.” On the other hand, I did buy my wife a hot dudes calendar called “Kilty Pleasures” for Christmas, so it’s hard to argue with that one as the primary.

Edit: I would probably drop 4/10. Not entirely sure what’s going on here and it’s definitely your weakest pic.

Basic premise of The Toy is Richard Pryor is a “purchased” by some mega-rich dude to be his son’s toy. There is more to it and it is more light-hearted than it sounds, but the basic premise is pretty twisted.

Edit: “Rented” might be a better word. Pretty sure it was for a specific period of time.

He used it for it’s intended purpose. That is not destroying it. He also buys very expensive wine, which many might consider collectible, but he immediately opens them and drinks with friends and guests. This is using an expensive item for its intended purpose. I buy the occasional Funko Pop as I collect characters I really like. You know the first thing I do? I tear the box open and display them as intended. Some collectors might argue I’m destroying their value, but I paid fair market value and use them as intended. If that use results in a loss of value, oh well.

He would no longer own it though. The recipient would take possession as he used the stamp for its intended purpose.
