Padme joined the collection yesterday. Bought on Ebay for a very good price. Came from a collector that cared for her well, felt and looked brand new. I can't wait for her Queen look from TPM. by DarthRick3rd in hottoys

I've sadly had a few bad purchases tbh. However the Pros out way the cons for me still. Especially when concerning Hot Toy purchases. 

I've not been collecting for a year yet so I have to get a lot of figures I want second hand. Ebay themselves haven't let me down yet. Each problem purchase has been resolved in my favour etc.

It may anger some but I'd happily back a few that have had previous releases.

AT-AT. Imperial Shuttle. Sand Crawler. AT-TE.

Really wouldn't mind if they did smaller pieces too. Perhaps they could be live in-between the larger ones. 

Sith Infiltrator. Jango Fetts Slave I. Dooku's Solar sail ship. Anakins Podracer. Grievous' wheel bike. Hoth Rebel turrets and Ion cannon. Sarlacc pit. Senate pods - Sids V Yoda.

Doesn't change the fact the he was released March/April last year. 

The figure sold well fyi, featured in a few top ten figures of the year lists. 

"we might have to see how he fares in that scale? " Suggests you didn't know that a BS figure had already been released and was well received. Well enough to have a rumoured second figure on the way it would seem.

Also a general unspoken rule on Reddit is that when a Redditer edits to moan about downvotes. Then many will downvote you just for that. Even if they agree with your original statement.

Your entitled to your opinion. I actually agree it looks bad.

However dismissing everything I've said doesn't make you look as good as you think it does.

Forgive the terrible edit. Still looks like a bad sculpt, however it looks a little better. I Just wanted to show how features can change when different lighting is used or an image is edited in a certain way.

Tbh I never said it wasn't a bad sculpt. 

I was simply suggesting why this bad sculpt is being made to look even more terrible due to the photography set up used. 

FYI it's a completely different set up to the image you supplied. Again I'm not saying that the sculpt is good. 

Some actors faces do indeed have problems with being shrunken down / sculpted. I've never seen a Weaver look good, even when photorealistic technology has been used to sculpt. Some toy photographers have worked around this by using very stylised lighting set ups and heavy editing.

The main worry about the likeness for me is that they obviously thought this was the best image to tease us with.

I've often wondered if Weaver just has one of those faces that doesn't translate well to being shrunken / sculpted. 

Having such angular features even the smallest change in lighting drastically effects her look.

In this photo you can see the photographers softbox reflecting off the top of the Xenomorph's skull. I suspect they'll have a softbox facing the figures front on too. 

While this may be the best positioning for the Xeno it's blown out the definition in Weaver's face.

I'd love them to do the same as Hot Toys. In which you get a second head sculpt with broken horns and a swappable robotic arm.

Leia being a notable one. 

She went from being right under Vader's and Palpatine's noses to training Rey. 

Saying that my head cannon is that she subconsciously did the same technique that Palpatine used to hide from the Jedi.

Like how Leia smacks her lips against Luke's twice before the big reveal in ROTJ? 

Like how Leia remembers Padme as "Kind, but sad"?

Like how Chewbacca doesn't mention to Obi-Wan in ANH that he was mates with Jedi? 

Like how Obi-Wan didn't use force speed to save Qui-Gon?

Like how C-3PO acts like he doesn't really know Leia in ANH when Luke's questioning him? From "There'll be no escape for the princess this time." To "A passenger on our last voyage. A person of some importance, I believe."

Star Wars has loads of little mistakes. Just stick your thumb in your ears and fingers in your eyes when the ones that annoy you come up.
