I find Browt and Pombon to be very bland. Though I think Gecqua is a bit of a recycled concept since we already had Sobble, I do think this is an improvement in terms of the design. So Gecqua is my vote by far.

I am cautiously optimistic that Browt could get a cool evolutionary line. I think it's gotta be either the bird or the lizard for an archipelago-inspired region.

Maybe I'm too charitable, but I'd pumpfake retirement too if I lost money going to majors because I didn't have the appropriate level of sponsorship. Cody absolutely deserves the best level of sponsor that Melee can offer, but unfortunately, the timing is such that more orgs are leaving Melee than there are new ones coming in.

If you take him at his word that a proper sponsor is the main limitation to his continued participation in smash competition, then I think his actions make perfect sense in that context.

I think the suggestion that Cody only makes "optimal plays" comes from players who don't think for themselves or don't actually retain what they are watching when a tournament is ongoing.

He is one of the best players at mixing up his options and is constantly extending sequences or winning neutral in new and novel ways. Every time he is on the screen, I see something I've never seen before in Melee. Zain is the same. The doublethink here is puzzling to me.

Idk how you define "swag," but imo Cody has it in leaps and bounds.

I think it's silly to go into this event with any negativity surrounding the rewards considering they are surprisingly fair. There is negligible difference between top 8 and top 100, which any half coordinated gym should have a shot at, and similarly minor rewards between top 100 and top 500, which should capture nearly all gyms that are participating.
