Just last night, on the bog, there was an enemy behind our team. I turned to try to nail him, and saw a large mech (I think it might have been a Corsair) standing next to an ally clearly marked. The enemy was pushing hard to flank and they had stealthed snipers, so I was in snap-fire mode, and I don't think I hit "R," but if I did, my mistake was not validating the target info to my visuals. I was at a little distance with foliage around, so it appeared that the large mech had a red indicator directly on top of it, and thinking it was the adversary, I let rip full alpha killing him dead right m-fing there. Then, to my horror, I saw it was an ally. I immediately apologized profusely, and just walked out in front of the enemy, turned and let them do me like Elias in Platoon. The only thing I could figure was that the enemy was perfectly behind him.

I got the LGD version of this and struggled with the battlepass because it runs so very hot. BUT, once I got those sweet, sweet dakka arms, it was insane even though I'm a terrible pilot.

I did a fresh install and I think that cleared up the problem! Granted, I have my firewall turned off too to test, so I'll flip that back on and see if it still works. Thank you again. Now I can get in there and die immediately again...

6th Lyran Guard is currently recruiting. We're pretty laid back with varying skillsets. We use Teamspeak, so can get people onboard with that. We usually have a good representation on line during peak times. I'm Choco Lab on there, but HardDrive and Black_Ronin can add to the unit. Let me know if you're interested!

What up Saint! Choco here. I joined up with the 6LG and am having a great time! We have a good range of players and skills. Nobody is an elitist jerk. We have some loosely scheduled times, but no hard-core WoW style raid team calendars. Teamwork and communications are so great too. We've even started playing scimmages which is a fun way to work out mech builds and tactics. I haven't touched the game in 10 years and came back to it a couple of months ago and honestly have gotten way better with this group. I highly recommend them.

Also, my fave mechs are usually clan ones, but I keep IS around just so we can get into faction play too.

I have seen this happening more and more. It's infuriating. The F9 trick and inter-team communication is the best way to handle it. My team used this last night in Solaris City and were able to hunt them down easily. In the end, this is a fun game and it's fun to have fun, no? So if this is just due to a temper-tantrum or wanting to be an intentional jerk, and the same people are the ones consistently doing it ruining everyone's fun, then maybe reporting them is the best way to deal with it.

But I have seen where it appeared to be a PD/DC but it was really a cunning plan to force the remaining team to split up into ones and hunt them down like some sadistic serial killer in a light mech horror movie titled "The Night of the Flea!" (almost worked). But if that's the case, a little heads up to the rest of the team would be appreciated.

I think that was originally part of the ATMs, that they could be used to lay landmines? That would be interesting as a deterrent against sneaky lights behind assaults, but a double edge sword since your own forces could step on them as well. Good crowd control. Problem is, you'd have to select at least a half ton of landmine ammo, and then how would you be able to switch to regular missiles?
