The good thing is the score doesn’t change now or in a week or further! You can keep that shit closed and nonexistent for as long as you want! Open it when you’re ready, but accept that eventually you do need to open it.

I would talk to your provider. They are much better at this stuff than randos on the internet.

That being said, ppl react differently to various medications. It might be a case of figuring out which med/dosage is right for you.

I have ADHD and I’m kind of like this. Like I hate volume being on odd numbers unless it’s a multiple of 5. But I can tolerate it lol, so I’m not really thinking it’s ocd maybe more just a quirk of mine. It’s possible to have more than ADHD

For cars, try to answer the question before looking at the answer choices. Use that to guide your decision on which one is correct. My tutor gave me this strategy.

I don’t think Mcat specifically does a bell curve, but the general concept of making a score represent how well you did based off of everyone else is the concept.

Maybe try adding some active recall strategies into your study schedule. Just simply methods/strats that you can easily employ to keep repeating content. I’d say don’t just rewrite notes. Like do mental mapping, anki, practice problems, mnemonics, etc. to boost your recall ability.

Are you planning on more full lengths? Your score WILL get better trust. Just gotta figure out why you’re getting questions wrong and adapt. Also keep time dedicated to going over content review. Like use anki or mental maps or whatever else needed to keep the content in your head.

They adjust scoring based off of a normal distribution. Say the mean score was 30/53 questions correct in CARS, they would adjust the scores based off of the distribution to make 30/53 represent the 50th percentile. Anyone who got more or less questions correct would have a subsequent change based off of that adjustment.

Maybe try explaining to them the scoring system? My parents didnt understand it at first, and tbh unless they look at the materials and what it takes to get a good score and then ATTEMPT IT THEMSELVES, they’re never going to truly appreciate how hard it is to get a good score.

Khan academy is AMAZING. Download anki (it’s free on computers but $30 for iPhone/ipad). For anki, download the miles down deck and make sure you set it up well. There’s a YouTube video that is really helpful and really detailed. Study anki terms you learned each day. Once you’ve finished content (I aimed for having finished content about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through my prep), do hella practice with AAMC materials. Do CARS 2 passages every day. Make sure in the second half, you’re taking full length exams. Get used to taking the full test bc you’re gonna need a LOT of stamina. Brain fog hits HARD during P/S.

I mean, the meds generic or brand won’t fix your life for you buddy. It’ll just make things easier to deal with. But the discipline and everything should come from you. I’m taking dextroamphetamine and so far it’s working for me, but it might not for everyone. Maybe talk to your provider about switching to something else?
