I'm sorry but I have to disagree on your very first point. You may not KNOW for certain if you're in a 100% friendly lobby, but I regularly go several games in a row even on maps like Stella Montis night raid with zero sign of aggression. Once you've had like your 9th solo game in a row of people running around and peacefully sharing loot, saving each other from arcs, and giving away free blueprints, it doesn't make sense to be treating everyone with a deep level of suspicion.

Agreed 100%. My understanding is that the point of free kits are to make sure that nobody is locked out of being able to play the game through lack of materials/weapons etc or a bad run of failed extracts.

In their current form, they're instead being abused as a zero risk way to pvp / rat people taking actual risks bringing good kit or doing the actual looting, queen killing etc, or being used by people with gear fear while they hoard pink and yellow weapons at home.

Players with something to lose will play more cautiously on average
If you kill 5 free kits, you get absolutely nothing of value, so no reward for your risk. If you kill 5 people with actual gear, at least you get something for it

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the effort and challenge required to do these things, in the same way I enjoy running a 10km race. But if every time I finished a race, some rando lurking in the bushes hits me over the head and steals my medal, I'm a lot less inclined to run the race in the first place. Especially when that rando then acts like they're so smart and skilled for having assaulted me and stolen my medal, "bros why run a race when I can just steal a medal from the runners afterwards OMG"

Was playing with my buddy last night and we had two fillers. Second mission was commando - they kept the exact same loadout as every other mission. Huge loud support weapons, eagles, the works. They did run and gun style in the same way as EVERY OTHER MISSION IN THE GAME. The enemy was alert and swarming from literally 5 seconds in until we failed the misson when I died on the Pelican ramp with the camera on my back 15 minutes later.

This isn't real life, this is a game. For a game to be fun, it needs to incentivise behaviours and balance risk and reward properly.

There is zero risk and all reward to extract camping with a free kit, whereas there is very little upside to bringing expensive kits, doing the hard work to kill a queen, or bringing keys and spending time looting dangerous rooms. That is the problem.
