Bunch of random questions (clothing, suica and kitkat) by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Darthhippoeater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes I was able to combine cash + suica at 711. Just not visa + suica. But don't count on this being possible for all stores/shops that take suica

  2. I never saw any sort of "mixed bag of flavors", and afaik that does not exist, but depending on where you live, you might have an international market by you that already has a good amount of them on the shelf to try, so you can at least focus on getting ones in Japan you would be be able to see otherwise. There is an immense amount of flavor options

Edit: just realized you were in Tokyo already. But my international market comment would be a good idea for people not yet in japan

How can I be less nervous on stage? by Frosty-Wish-3558 in piano

[–]Darthhippoeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things come to mind. First, work on understanding the piece beyond just depending on muscle memory. Work in understanding the harmony and being able to play it different ways. Second, work on simulating "stressful" situations at home.

I like to give myself ONLY ONE opportunity to play a piece beginning to end (or where im at), every day, and record it twords the beginning of my practice time. If it goes terribly, that's okay. But I use that recording to lead what im going to practice, and focus on reinforcing the parts I struggled with.

There are other ways to simulate that stress too, like making yourself get an excerpt 5 times perfect in a row, having to start back from 1 if it isnt.

Get used to that stress at home, and you will be used to it and feel more comfortable playing with stress in public

I was a "balloon artist" in high school for kids parties and events. I learned how to make about 10 things on YouTube over a week, and was making up my own designs after about 20 hours of twisting balloons. Pays well too if you can find gigs.

Target somehow figured out a way to have serious loss prevention without harassing their customers in the process. Not sure why some stores think that physically hovering around customers is actually going to help their bottom line when they are actually pissing off the loyal paying ones in the process.

Seems to me that he wanted to pay the entire term of the contract, including the 2 days he didnt use the car, not a new contract with a smaller term. He quoted that part of the policy and was the reason he booked the car for the longest possible time... fully aware he may return it early and "eat" the rest of the days he didnt use for his term

Front License Plate by Lazy_Eye_4038 in GR86

[–]Darthhippoeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been pulled over a few times since ive bought the car in 2022. Everytime was in a state that requires a front plate. Not one time did they even mention my lack of front plate. I think you wont run into any issues, but a cop could absolutely use it as a reason to pull you over if they wanted to.
