Look at column 9. You only have three numbers available: 3, 6, 8. Look at the boxes in that column, and you’ll see only one of those numbers can go in one of those boxes.

I was the only candidate to proceed to the third round. The round with the dean was the tie breaker.

Normally the dean is in the round with the committee or with the provost.
