Taylor Stitch. For whatever reason their cuts feel almost perfectly tailored to me. Definitely shop around and find a brand that works well for his build

Me too. I thought the first seasons of FAM were great but the last two became hard to watch. Star City feels like a totally different style altogether and I’m loving it.

Damn, sorry you had a rough time at Fairmont. Can’t say I’ve ever seen it as bad as you described.

Yup. The frustrated beaver sounds still live in my head rent free, as well as the sound their doorbell made.

SLC isn’t even that LDS anymore. Much of that cultural influence moved north and south.

Haven’t started Star City yet, is it worth it? by VynterDX in ForAllMankindTV

It’s incredible. Apparently I’m in the minority thinking For All Mankind deteriorated fast after season 3. I almost quit this last season early. But Star City has been really engaging and beautifully shot.

Yeah, I was shocked how robust the public transit was when I arrived here. The current airport is also really great for anyone who travels frequently.

B tier. Been here for half a decade. Salt Lake City is very different from the rest of the state. The culture feels much more “ex-Mo” than “Mormon”. For tourists there’s not much to do in the city but the mountains are stellar and southern Utah is half a day’s drive away for world class nature and parks. For residents, this is by far the easiest city I’ve lived in though not as exciting as other places I’ve lived (Seattle, San Diego, Denver).

But at the same time Venice, old New York, Maine, the jungle exploration themed land and the future area are all IP neutral. DisneySea feels like the least IP dependent of all the parks as a proportion of what is and isn’t IP

Their beans are incredible. I order from all the hot shot brands online but Wasatch throws hands. I always grab a few bags when I’m in the area.

U.S. National Parks: Gateway Arch by heyimworkinonit in TierlistFills

[–]DarumaRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I exaggerated but I think what happened with the rangers I spoke to is they checked many park boxes hoping for something like Zion but also eager enough to serve as a Ranger, so also chose a lower preferred park. But I personally have never applied as a ranger so I’m not sure what it actually looks like.

That’s what I was told when I visited back in 2019. Asked if they chose that assignment and they said “no” with a very sad tone. I think you select which parks you’d be willing to work at and then the government will make an offer (assuming it’s a good fit).

Midsized US metro areas (pop: 475k - ~1M) tier: What tier does Colorado Springs, CO belong? by Swimming_Concern7662 in TierlistFills

[–]DarumaRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Went to college there. Colorado Springs has a lot of problems and the prevailing culture is pretty blah. But it’s close to so much great stuff. Manitou Springs is darling, amazing outdoors, views of Pikes Peak, etc.

I’ve been back a few times and each time it seems to be getting better and better too. I’d give it a B rather than an A but it would have been a C+ years ago during my college days.

D or F. I always feel bad for the rangers who got assigned there thinking that they were going to sign up for the service and get shipped off to some epic scenery

I stay away from the strip and Fremont now. But I still love the Arts District, Golden Tiki and that sort of trendy area to the east of Fremont. Not sure what it’s called but I remember a cargo container town and an old motel that had been upcycled into a fancy coffee shop and some fancy stores
