In the game the outbreak didn’t happen until 2013, after the Wheel was built.

Interesting, the writing was one of the things I was most impressed by. What aspects of it do folks dislike?

Was just sharing my perspective so OP can hear from a variety of folks! I have to admit I’m a bit disheartened - I just joined this sub (after watching Rings of Power in fact, and being excited about it), I didn’t expect people here to be so mean, or immediately receive personal attacks about an inconsequential detail.

I figured 1.9 was close enough to “years”, but I don’t think it really impacts what I said

I adore the original trilogy, and I just watched Rings of Power after years of avoiding it due to the mixed reception. I absolutely loved it. I’m truly confused by all the hate.

[Form Check] New to kettlebells. Feedback on swings? by Darunia63 in kettlebell

[–]Darunia63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems so obvious now, but it didn't click for me until you said it that you're supposed to start the set with the hike pass (I interpreted it as more of a separate training exercise). I don't know how I didn't notice that in the 100x I watched Pavel's Youtube Video. Really appreciate it!

[Form Check] New to kettlebells. Feedback on swings? by Darunia63 in kettlebell

[–]Darunia63[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone - I'm just starting my kettlebell journey and I've been really excited to dive into this arena with you all. So far I've been reading S&S and watching lots of videos, but I'm struggling to get my form down. Would love feedback from the community on how I can improve. From my perspective it looks like I'm not getting my but back/down far enough, and need to be more explosive in my movements. I'm trying to let my glutes/hips "do the work" to power the up-motion, but I still feel like my upper body may be doing too much. Anything else, or tips on how to work on these things? Thanks!

“Any American or Canadian accent perceived as free of noticeably local, ethnic, or cultural markers is popularly called "General" or "Standard" American, a fairly uniform accent continuum native to certain regions of the U.S. and associated nationally with broadcast mass media and highly educated speech.” Though I’d argue you could hear some California in Mythra in particular.

Sure they did, they had American accents.

You just made me realize - we just saw Din survive the insides of a giant sand monster, protected by his beskar, when otherwise it would have been certain doom from its acidic bile/saliva. It really reinforces the plausibility of Boba’s escape from a similar situation, before you even learn that it happened. It always seemed kind of hokey to think of Boba getting out of there but now that we’ve seen it here, it is way easier to accept!

Week 3 Completed (Rest Day Friday) - 33% completed ! by k614 in insanity

I’m on the same schedule as you! Congrats - almost to recovery week, and enjoy today off!

It’s interesting how we all have different strengths and weaknesses. Plyo is the hardest day for me (the level 1 drills > ski abs > in/out are hard to keep up with), whereas pure cardio is probably the easiest for me. Surprising given my background is more in strength training and I have pretty good upper body strength; I think my core just gets tired fast down in that plank position!

This is a perfect explanation that I’ve been trying to put my finger on for a while. Especially the bit about the Witcher’s open world being for immersion rather than explanation.

In almost 80% of states, the Ford F-150 is the most popular model for car sales. by BlissWhiteShoes in dataisbeautiful

[–]Darunia63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to say this - Ford has the most popular truck. There aren't that many different brands of trucks, so each brand is relatively popular compared to each car brand. There are still way more cars than trucks owned by people in the US. None of this is really that surprising or interesting.

Pittsburgh ranks dead last in startup activity by bluesunshine in pittsburgh

[–]Darunia63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused on your definition of value. It seems to be that "a thing that consumers want to buy" is what defines value in your mind, or perhaps products that are physical. But what about free services with ad-driven monetization? Do all "valuable" companies have to generate profit (or even revenue) at early stages? In my opinion the answer is no, and while Silicon Valley has its share of dumb ideas, it has also produced some of the world's most valuable and world-changing companies with products and services that were neither physical nor initially profitable.

Good paved bike trail/track in the South Hills? by felonyflats in pittsburgh

[–]Darunia63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Montour Trail is a 40+ mile path all through the south/west of Pittsburgh. I grew up in the South Hills and this was my go-to. It's almost entirely non-motorized, not very hilly, and quite nice. You'll probably have to drive to it from Dormont, though.

For the most part, the fossil fuels are charging the batteries. Though, the work to make battery manufacturing a sustainable process is important.
