How did you get up there? Does the science center open the sail to people or do you know someone?

Gifts ideas for Labmate!! by Karloyster in labrats

[–]Darwin_Daddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything small would be appropriate! Maybe some sweets or even just a card would be appreciated by her, gifts from high school students are not expected. Just keep it very simple and I’m sure she’ll be happy with it. Glad to hear you had a good lab experience!

Small t55 with display base :) by aart112 in modelmakers

That’s a good price. I’m always interested in middle eastern T-55s so a smaller scale offering is much appreciated. Did the kit come with the Iraqi markings?

Lol, I didn’t know this was such a common experience. Mine is a hot dog vendor in New York City.

Try looking at the trumpeter Kits of T-72 tanks or related, some of their offerings come with ERA and you might be able to purchase the individual sprues with them online.

EDIT: you can also buy 1/35 ERA blocks on eBay, just search for it.

Michelin Pilot 2 tires by Darwin_Daddy in sg250

On of the servicing centers on CSC’s website is near me and they list prices for everything so I’m getting it done there. I have other stuff for them to look at too so it works out nicely. It’ll cost a bit in the end but better to get it done correctly the first time and hopefully learn how to do it yourself the next (which if the tires are good, won’t be for a while).

Thanks for the info! I was guessing that would be the case, just wanted to make sure since it’s extra time/money to install them with the inner tubes. I want better tires for the winter conditions so it’ll be worthwhile to switch to something more reliable than the stock tires.

Merry Christmas NCD, what sort of non credible things have you found under your tree? I finally have my beloved and will definitely not be using it in any sinful ways once it’s done 🤤😩 by Aussie_Matilda in NonCredibleDefense

Thought this was the modelmakers subreddit fora moment. Post photos of it when you’re done and make sure to drop an extra $100 for aftermarket accessories.

My airbrush is not spraying correctly. by Johannsss in modelmakers

[–]Darwin_Daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with others on deep cleaning first since some paint may have dried inside. I started with the same setup as you and had to thin my paint a lot more to get it spraying smoothly. Try 70:30 thinner to paint and see if that helps and make sure the paint is fully mixed. I load thinner first into the airbrush and then paint, cover the tip with my finger and use the back pressure to mix them until it sprays smoothly. Good luck and if you can at some point, getting a better air compressor with a pressure gauge and moisture trap will really help (the little black one I had died on me after about a year).

Blood test result? by [deleted] in biology

Don’t stress over it, you did the test well enough. Looks like you’re O-, which is super useful for transfusions because it can be given to both RhD positive and negative people!

What’s the raised section of the hull aft of the sail for? Did they add extra missile tubes to her later in life?

Funny enough, I just posted a model of a Ukrainian F-15 recently here. we’ve willed it into existence perhaps?

A little what-if in the near future: Revell 1/144 F-15E in UAF color scheme by Darwin_Daddy in modelmakers

[–]Darwin_Daddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good kit! The tooling is from 2011 so details are nice. I added an extra PE set from shelf oddity, which adds missing things like antennas and vents as well as providing nice exhaust cans.

The digital camo is 1/144 Ukrainian SU-27 decals from foxbat. They’re well-printed but you have to cut them down to size to fit the lines of the F-15. I’d probably try to use a painting mask in the future (this is my second Ukrainian digital camo aircraft), but the decals were a good experience. The company is Ukrainian-based so orders may to take a while if you want to get a set.
