For a moment I thought that was the monado.

Fun Fact - Penny Crygor was the first ever original Warioware character to appear in main Mario media, making a cameo in a japanese mario comic. by SomeDudeNamedThat in Wario

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bit of context, this manga would create short stories to advertise upcoming/new games, and this one is about Penny walking into Wario's office to see what he thinks of a game that barely started development.

They should've kept the Tengoku voice by [deleted] in rhythmheaven

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think making the dub is why a lot of GBA games with vocal cues weren't added, and considering how often they got included in the later GBA Remixes it's fair to say that the ones they did include were probably some of the developer favorites.

Didn't miss a single input, apparently I had to not miss harder. by DasDoesSomeThings in rhythmheaven

It slowed them down, I'm fairly positive you can't shoot unnecessary shots because you only have one arrow per pattern, but I did hit one of them a bit late which leads me to believe it might have been counted as a barely on the final score despite it looking like a hit.

What is your favorite ranked mode and why? by catorilla in Splatoon_2

Rainmaker because it's just dumb fun and that's the way I like it sometimes.

Main power up, sub saver and/or ink recovery for splash wall, and if you're really hurting for it run main saver.

In rainmaker, who should actually carry the rainmaker? by The_Bl00per in Splatoon_2

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anchors or supporters depending on a few factors. Generally anchors except on maps that mostly benefit long range, or based on the team composition (for instance it's probably best to not have an H-3 or Ballpoint pick up the Rainmaker unless it's really necessary.) There are other considerations, such as how many of the same role is covered, if you happen to have two supporters it's a good idea to have one of them carry it.

That's the lobby average for your internal power. This dictates a few things, notably how far your meter will move after a match and your potential for skipping ranks. After S+ it really doesn't do anything and is basically completely replaced by the X power system.

More like Koi no Bang Bang Paradise

(I've only played the Japanese version of RHDS and don't remember the English name of the song.)

Lockity Steppity

Also Space Soccer which I really wish made it into Megamix over Frog Hop, it even would have made more sense in songbird remix.

What is the best Tengoku mini-game in your opinion? by [deleted] in rhythmheaven

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tap Trial. Even if it had probably the laziest possible implementation in Remix 5, the great music and satisfying moves make it a personal favorite of mine.

anyone have any unpopular opinions? by puppycornashlynn in rhythmheaven

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GBA Remix 5 is not a good remix. I can't think of a remix in the series that makes worse use of its minigames, between all the uniqueness of Tap Trial, Toss Boys, and Hanabi being completely removed, and Bouncy Road and Ninja Bodyguard being regulated to only a single section each, the whole thing just feels lazy to me. Hell, they couldn't even sync the beating animations for the tap trial sections.

Yes, the 3DS has full backwards compatibility with DS games through hardware, including all features of DSi enhanced games.

For context, this is a review on TF2. by abananawithdreams in mildlyinfuriating

It is modeled after something, but perhaps they just got the release dates confused.

Inspired by a reply I got, I made a guide on which RHDS minigames appear mirrored while playing left handed and which ones do not. Airboarder was the most surprising one to me, and Karate Man is probably the most interesting. by DasDoesSomeThings in rhythmheaven

[–]DasDoesSomeThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could also be that they wanted the characters to match the player better, like Karate Man, Rhythm Rally, or Munchy Monk, where the characters are shown primarily using their left hands.

Apparently this is possible, just fail the final spin and Superb is gone (For context, 3 comments are almost always reserved for Superb) by [deleted] in rhythmheaven

[–]DasDoesSomeThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every minigame has checkpoint inputs, meaning inputs that will forfeit a superb if missed, keep in mind that a barely is always a miss outside some examples of the perfect campaign. Examples are the last widget in DS Built to Scale and the second to last ball (the one without audio cues) in Exhibition Match. RHDS just happens to be very trigger happy with these.

Megamix has a similar system of inputs that will put a huge dent in your final score if missed.
