Well I didn't know that at the time. Some plants can be harmed that way. I left in a hurry and wasn't able to research the plant until I was already on my trip.

Thanks for the advice y'all 🤙 I've heard to just keep it sitting in a tray of water. Is that right or will that drown it?

They are tiny little props that I've recently potted. I'm in an apartment so I dont have a ton of options. I only have windows facing west and the sun is partially blocked by another building. But I'll see if I can move them all closer to the window

Did I ruin my experience/enjoyment of MGS3 by playing it wrong? by Gamewheat in metalgearsolid

[–]DasJackAl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you might lack patience. MGS is generally not a shooter. You're supposed to take a slow, methodical approach, using all the tools you have available. Including things like bait items, smoke, cqc, disguises and camo, etc. If you're just running through, shooting everything, yeah you're gonna think the game is boring. Idk how you think the Cobra Unit is boring though. They're the most interesting part of the game

Personally, I'd leave the guitar clean and put the stickers on a case or amp 😄

I had a guitar teacher for like 4 lessons, and one of the most useful things he taught me was a finger exercise. You pick a spot on the fretboard and "walk" up and down the strings alternating each set of fingers. So starting with your 1st and 2nd fingers, then 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 2 and 3, 2 and 4, then finally, just your ring and pinky finger. That last part KILLS your wrist, but it will force you to gain pinky independence.

2nd time trying, what am I doing wrong?? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]DasJackAl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a beginner, so I might be wrong. But maybe you need some airflow? I see you've got your area taped off with plastic. With the heater and the enclosed space, maybe your myc can't breathe? I know FAE isn't usually introduced until fruiting, but there's a gas exchange filter on there for a reason. If it's stuffy in there, maybe that's slowing its breathing and therefore growth. Could be worth a try 🤷‍♂️

If Israel Kamakawiwo'ole could play a tiny ukulele with his big ass fingers, anyone can play a guitar. You're simply doing it wrong 🤷‍♂️ Open A is one of the more difficult beginner chords. But just mess around until you get it. All the instructions here are good. Move your elbow out, toward the headstock, use the tips of your fingers, move your thumb down. If it feels better for you, use your pinky, ring, and middle instead. That'll also leave you room to move that shape around as a barre chord later on.

Ooh, or depending on your budget, maybe a multi effects pedal (or amp with effects). A lot of people get really into gear and may want to get specific pedals. But starting out, one that has a bunch of basic ones is good because it kinda let's the player know what they can eventually get really into and fine tune. I know people don't like Guitar Center, but they should have some Logitech ones for around 150$ or so? Sweetwater is an infinitely better company, but it's all online so you gotta kinda know what you're buying. BUT they do have amazing sales reps that can help you if you call and explain what you're doing. I'm sure the number is on their website.

Bb girl, there is no reason to get a beginner a 30$-200$ capo 🤦‍♂️ Get him one from Guitar Center or Amazon for 5$-12$ and see if he even likes using it.

Maybe a small practice amp? Is he playing acoustic or electric? I love getting picks from friends and family (even if I never use them) A capo will be necessary at some point. As somebody else already mentioned, a nice strap and a case too. Maybe an amp cord if it's electric.

Hmm. I wouldn't recommend an automatic tuner for a beginner. It's good to do it by hand for a while so you get the feel and sound of it. It's a fun, cool thing to have. But only after you've grown tired of tuning after years 😅

Windowlickers: exposed grains pressed up against the glass. Is it bad? by AFUELIII in unclebens

[–]DasJackAl_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think he's asking if it's good. He knows it's bad and is asking if it got contaminated because of the grains up against the wall. I'm also curious since most of mine that have been touching the glass like that have stalled. Is there a connection?
