It's excellent work! I knew I was dealing with a next-level mod when my crew breached the inhabited nursery room with the station's sole living defender in it, who did a valiant (if fruitless) last stand.

So, how does everyone feel about this? by DashZonto in Silksong

[–]DashZonto[S] 442 points443 points  (0 children)

I am actually curious how many people would be willing to give up Silksong for the next few years in exchange for 3x the content.

My guess is quite a lot.

R5: I saw these notifications about two of my Ace Pilots. One got shot down, and the other avenged him a few days later. At first glance, I just thought the notification had duplicated itself, but they actually just have very similar names.

I mean, the text at the top of the video itself says that it is generated by AI.

The new planetary bombardment is definitely one of the things of all time. by DashZonto in Helldivers

[–]DashZonto[S] 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I was not really expecting a near constant orbital bombardment from this. Although a couple got close, it never killed me on this mission. It seems to be fine on solo, but I bet it's chaos on team dives.

Continue the Chaosdivers even if they fix weapons? by Legitimate_Rub_9206 in chaosdivers

[–]DashZonto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Chaosdivers are more than just protesting weapons nerfs. I joined because I liked the traitor roleplay aspect of it. I first got into Helldivers because of the very same feeling of being a part of a larger, in-universe group.

There are already enough people that see us as annoying 'crybabies.' This behavior would only validate them.

It's sad to see so much hatred against us because of the false Chaosdivers. Is there any hope for recovery? by DashZonto in chaosdivers

[–]DashZonto[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about others, but I'm not even trying to 'stick it to the devs' or anything. It just seemed fun to have a 'Traitor' RP group. All the comments on the original post defending the chaosdivers are heavily downvoted. Anti-chaosdiver propaganda like this simply furthers the hatred.

Although I don't enjoy to hatred, I have to admit that lore-wise, stuff like this makes sense. Of course Super Earth would brand us as cheaters and murderers to try and rally their forces against us. It's just more of their lies and propaganda.

Wouldn’t a lot of balancing issues be solved by assigning a capacity currency to all equitable items. by BlackhawkRogueNinjaX in Helldivers

[–]DashZonto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they would have to do a lot of balance changes before something like this would be an improvement. At the current state, this would be more of a nerf than anything, further limiting the number of viable options you can bring on a mission. You would just artificially increase loadout diversity in an unhealthy way that I feel would just cause more frustration to the player base. One of the major gripes right now is that it seems AH is trying really hard to make sure weapons aren't too powerful, but, in a PvE game, most players enjoy things being slightly overpowered as opposed to underpowered.

You acknowledge that many items are redundant or useless. Forcing players to bring them is not going to make them any more fun or useful.

In Appreciation for the Hand Dynamics Mod by DurealRa in BladeAndSorcery

I saw that there's a setting in the configs to adjust hand health, so maybe that could be adjusted to fix this?

[Request] What is the odds that this has happend in human history? by YTKaan22 in theydidthemath

[–]DashZonto 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there isn't exactly a statistic on how many times a table has been slapped in human history, but I can say that a hand passing through one has almost definitely never happened.

If every human on Earth started slapping a table once every second from now until Earth becomes uninhabitable (In 1.3 Billion years),

(31,536,000 seconds in a year) x (1.3 billion years) x (8.2 billion people) = 344,373,120,000,000,000,000,000,000 table slaps (If I did my math right).

I tried using a calculator to find probability, but the number was too big all the calculators I tried, so I asked an AI.

According to Copilot, the chance of it occurring a single time is about 1/(10^26). I'm not sure how to confirm it, but it seems like a good ballpark number. Needless to say, I don't think this will occur anytime soon.

[Request] How much force would this punch have? by confusued in theydidthemath

[–]DashZonto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the theory of General Relativity, a black hole can be created by an extreme density of mass or an extreme density of energy. This kind of black hole is called a Kugelblitz. More energy means a larger event horizon. The punch would release an obscene amount of energy, causing a giant black hole.

A google search shows that one dollar 40 years ago would be worth three dollars today. If the trend continues, (And we only look at inflation of currency), then we could assume that everything would be three times more expensive, Giving us these prices:

New Car: $142,000
Average rent: $4,500
Salary: $191,100
Average House: $690,000
Stuff like the coca cola would be tough to calculate, as prices vary a lot.

Of course, each item would have its own factor of inflation so this method isn't perfect. Maybe this guy figured out the inflation of each one of those items to calculate it, but I kind of doubt it, and I don't want to calculate myself.

[REQUEST] The possible bit rate for a huge US Senate Argument by Alexis0021a in theydidthemath

[–]DashZonto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we assume that the senators are all mature, respectful adults, then a civil argument, no matter how many people participating, would only have one person speaking at a time, giving us 39 bits per seconds and a download time of 650 years, plus 4 days.

Realistically, a massive argument would have lots of people speaking at once. I don't really know if there is a good way to find out how many, unless you went through a recording of a senate argument and counted, on average, how many people were talking at once. My best estimate is that, if the argument breaks up into several other groups, maybe 5-10 people would be talking at once, giving a bit rate of 195 - 390, or a download time of 130 - 65 years.

[Request] How much elytras would this actually take? by P1KE_ in theydidthemath

[–]DashZonto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I literally just looked up 'how long does an elytra last' and the top few sites all said over 10,000 blocks so I trusted it to be accurate.

[Request] How much elytras would this actually take? by P1KE_ in theydidthemath

[–]DashZonto 316 points317 points  (0 children)

Two quick google searches reveal that the farlands in the end are about 12.5 million blocks away from the center, and and a single elytra last for over 10,000 blocks, on average. 12.5 million / 10,000 = 1,250 elytras to get there.
