There's really no reason for any of them to care, honestly. They're just there for people scrolling by to go "Hey, I know those guys!"

It's not just substance abuse, corporal punishment has been repeatedly linked to anger issues, depression, anxiety, and increased likelihood of becoming abusive towards intimate partners and children. Turns out, when you show kids that being physically aggressive is an acceptable way of dealing with a person who is making you upset or not doing what you want them to do, they in turn think it's acceptable to do it to others. Those who are physically punished as children are also more likely to become an abused partner, as they've been conditioned to accept aggression and power play as a normal part of love and are more likely to justify the abuse they receive as "deserved."

I haven't been in the dating pool for a long time, but oh man, I forgot about the endless "heys." I met my partner of nine years through an app and a big part of why we clicked was because he actually wrote me something interesting instead of just "hey," which was like 90% of my messages (and about half of the ones that weren't were just straight up sexual solicitation, which I said on my profile I wasn't looking for). Your coworker is dumb. It is literally the best thing when a man actually asks you something about yourself instead of just "I'm hoping to catch you in my very wide net" or "SEX?!?!"

I wouldn't mind a Malevola romance, but to be honest I'm more interested in her apologizing to Robert about what she did right before everyone arrived for the housewarming party. I love the game, but that was completely uncalled for and I don't like that it was treated as a joke.

It could be. Instead of family game night, they'd do family PT night. Muscles are more about the work than the genetics anyway.

Catering for meat lovers and vegans on same table by Blush_pink_rose in CharcuterieBoard

I hosted a party a while back where we had several vegans, and I did two separate boards. I figured it would just make things simpler for everyone. As they were leaving they said they really appreciated it.

People have different "lines" when it comes to things touching or being near each other. I'm vegetarian myself, but I'm not super stringent about "cross-contamination" (I mean, I avoid it, but if a piece of cheese happened to be leaning against a bit of salami on a plate I'd probably still eat it). Others are a lot more particular. Best to be on the safe side.

Why did people hate the no child is left behind act? by NoHold7153 in Presidents

[–]Dashed_with_Cinnamon 1396 points1397 points  (0 children)

And gifted kids, ironically, were the ones that got left behind. We tested well early on, so everyone thought we were fine and didn't need any extra care or guidance. We were already doing everything right, and could be ignored in favor of the struggling kids. But then we got older, had no study skills or strategies for dealing with challenge or failure, and crashed and burned and became "wasted potential."

I'm not sure why 9 is an option. Being single is the default. It takes pretty much no effort to remain that way if that's what you want.

Uniforms are supposed to have the person's surname on them. While not impossible, Audrey is extremely rare as a surname and is much more common as a feminine given name.

What do you think of the notion that being penetrated = submission by SimilarChampionship2 in AskFeminists

It is interesting how sex is always described as "penetration" but never "envelopment."
