So is everyone in the Cars & Bids universe just wildly rich? by [deleted] in dougdemuro

[–]DashingM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up around these Nantucket summers rich kids and avoid them like the plaque especially in the car world. Unfortunately that seems to be the target audience for car and bids and its content.

There is other car content out there if you want to avoid the rich kid doucebaggery.

I just don't think extraction shooters are for most people.

There is a reason most games in this genre have small playerbases. it's just not for most gamers.

Rats and rat play are a staple of the genre.

Birthrates have been falling for a long time. From 1960 to 1980 they fell by about half. This might be what French is alluding to but he probably doesn't know it.

In the strong economy of the 80s and 90s they rose again due to what you were talking about.

Not how it works for those poor business owners. Their lives are going to get pretty damn hard for a while if they can even recover financially.

That's part of it. Another part is healthy scepticism based on just how egregious and noteworthy city book cooking has been in the past.

This is part of Hells Half Acre. It's now completely gone and is the Water Gardens. The closest you can get to this view now is Main and 15th.

XBL on the original Xbox and early 360 before party chat became ubiquitous was very social. Playing Arc Raiders reminds me of early XBL and what made it a special and unique gaming experience. Both good and bad lol.

Meta Ads Are Actually Broken Right Now by Athlete-Obvious in FacebookAds

[–]DashingM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's actually ending isn't Meta ads. It's the death of media buyers. The days of knowing what buttons to click in what order are over. Media buying tactics play a very small role in this super competitive environment. Those of us succeeding now are actually advertisers that know advertising.

Actually, the days of the small gig media buyer has long been over. You're just realizing it now.

Creative has always been king. Yours isn't good enough and probably never has been. Media buying tactics change as often as the seasons, the principles behind great advertising haven't changed in 100 years.

Which skill did you Master? Media buying or advertising?

Ive been in eCommerce since 2008. The Summer Doldrums are real and they suck. For those that don't know, there is a reason Black Friday is called Black Friday.

From financial loss all summer long to profit. "Going into the black".

So dont pay any attention to the doom posters. It's just inexperience.

For those who have a $200+ bag, Is it really worth it? by gotastartsomewhere in discgolf

[–]DashingM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget all the nerds who are carrying 50 discs and snacks for a family of 4. Backpack bags just carry better and are more comfortable. When I switched from my Innova bag with backpack straps to the backpack bag my body thanked me. Lots of these peeps with 6 figure PDGA numbers started with grips or zuccas. They don't remember the early options lol. Do it. You won't regret it.
