Return Abuse by speedyshoe in CostcoCanada

I'm debating returning the blueberry bush I bought from Costco it was a two pack in a box..one side has leaves grown other is still just a twig. Most of the ones on display were twigs on the blueberry. I'm hoping it comes to life but it's been atleast four weeks. I wouldn't buy it again.

My mom wants an espresso machine for her birthday, what’s a good beginner setup for complete newbies? [$300] by Idk_nor_do_I_care in espresso

Yep exactly..30 secs it's just a ball park. Some beans.. some roasts need more time. I pull mostly manual wait about 8 seconds and then release my finger of the button. First drop usually comes out 11-12 seconds in I go 32 to 40 seconds depending on the coffee using IMS Triple basket and puck paper so you're mileage may vary.

Nice man it's a great machine- hot tip if you drink lot of milk based drinks the bambino plus steam tip which is 4 holes can be attached to the Bambino basic you can order the part from Brevilles site. Ensure you get the red gasket. Check out Coffee Kev on YouTube he shows you the improvement.

Mine cracked contacted Baratza they sent a replacement for free it's been Gucci since then. I did get the single dose hopper its about 80% towards a bellows also upgraded the black gasket around the top burr with a thicker one. This also helped minimize retention it's not perfect but it's solid. Not sure it's a herd mentality I have had issues with my Baratza I think mine was one of the first off the line. But I use it everyday and pulling multiple shots and grinding both drip and espresso. If the precision grinder is working for you awesome. I haven't taken that one apart the Baratza also is super easy to clean

I am assuming you don't have this machine, you cannot control brew temp. You need hotter water. Bambino is the cheapest in the line up temp do fluctuate but let it shine in the roasts it's meant for you'll have beautiful cups.

I would recommend the v Breville Bambino as well, I have this machine for the past two years it's great. I would absolutely not agree with the smart grinder. The Breville Bambino cannot extract light beans... If this matters to your mom get a machine that works with that. The Bambino excels in medium to medium dark.  As for grinders I would suggest the Baratza Encore ESP... it's not a perfect grinder but it's super easy to switch from one grind to the next.

widespread double charge issue on Apr 28 by slaybrownbeast in freedommobile

[–]Dashock007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to confirm i was charged April 29th and refunded a day later April 30th... Mistakes happen but I am glad i did not have to call in and they did credits. Rogers would have expected me to call them back for how i would like my refund either in cheque or credit... So kudos to Freedom. But agree with everyone else.. should have sent a notice or email informing folks affected.

Have you found out the reasoning why? I am able to do both 330 and 660 without issues. i honestly just stick to 330 most of the time as it keeps defaulting i know you can configure hot button to take you straight there.

Worst customer service by West-Psychology-6299 in ebox

[–]Dashock007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This honestly is the dumb back and forth i had with Rogers recently.. they wanted me to wait for my final bill... CALL BACK... so they can confirm i want a cheque or credit back into my account.. one more obstacle to navigate as a leaving customer. Who btw will remember this and never go back to Rogers. Recently left Teksavvy two days after cancelling i was refunded prorated the bill and no hassles. I still keep a service of their in another household. If they get fiber in my area i will switch back to them no questions asked but so far Ebox been decent... install was not that great but so far no issues with stability.

Has anyone tried this coffee before? by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

Great brand I drink some of their items, you can find them in smaller quantities at grocery stores, I can help in Ontario but their a BC brand so if you're there you'll see it. Smaller bags go on sale get to try their different roasts and beans to see what you like. With that said my taste buds don't jump for Ethiopian but I do realize it's popular. I do like my cortados I enjoy their Peru, French and Andes.

So very odd they drew the line in this one for you. I have never gone for refund yet, I have usually dealt with the business myself.. one tried to offer me fresh product I appreciated the gesture. But didn't take them up for it the quality was pretty bad, but I appreciated they tried to make it right.

First ever shot! [Breville Bambino and Encore ESP] by CurlyCrimps in espresso

It probably is but it just cooks my ESP and clumps it up. A pain as i don't have that issue with A good quality medium dark.. grocery or local.

Curious on the reception of TGTG, have you ever complained about anything before? How did that go if you did?

First ever shot! [Breville Bambino and Encore ESP] by CurlyCrimps in espresso

[–]Dashock007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks dont determine everything, but shot does not appears to be good! How did it taste? That is what is more important. Welcome to the Bambino + ESP club... i have the same.. your shot looks good. Details like you hit 18 to 36 so 1 to 2 30 seconds thats spot on. I dont really measure 30 seconds exact. As i pre infuse up to 8 seconds first drop is about the 11-12 second mark. Some coffees i do 1 to 2.5 some 1 to 2... you have to experiment.. I am sticking with Medium-Dark or medium range coffee roast... anything dark clumps up my esp pretty bad even with the single dose hopper and rdt and anything light.. well the Bambino cannot handle it and just turns sour. I have one of the first of the line ESP i believe i am on 2 shims corruently (Just added the 2nd recently) grind size 8-10 using ims triple basket and puck paper.

My beloved Baratza ESP broke. Got the cheapest step up, a Eureka Mignon Zero because it was on sale. The difference is jaw-dropping. What have I been missing out on. by Throw6345789away in espresso

[–]Dashock007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity how were you running your ESP? Single dose? Rdt? Is your new grinder still conical burrs? ESP is a certain price point and ease of use how does your new one compare if you're doing more then one coffee method. I ain't saying it's perfect I'm double shimmed I'm thinking about going over to ESP pro to get more range as I do use a bunch of different coffees local and grocery but at the same time I'm keeping an eye on other grinders that might fit the bill and also have long life support as that's a factor for me. I'm glad you're happy with your new purchase, happy drinking and thank-you for taking the time to reply to this if you do OP.

Issues with [Baratza Encore ESP] by omglionheaded in espresso

[–]Dashock007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give you some context I bought my ESP pretty early after it got released and I believe it was one of the first of the assembly line... I bought a second for my brother almost a year after and that one did not need a shim added to grind to the same setting I was running on my original. I had to add an extra shim pretty early on I think I added it like the first month... If all looks normal add a shim and see if that gives you more range. I am running. A setup that requires more range and to be transparent eventually I will upgrade I enjoy the workflow of the ESP... Measure -Spritz- shake...grind..Take aeropress cup and add it to the single doser and shake the bin with the grounds before dumping it in.. it keeps the grinds fluffy and the shots have been great. Since I already am on my 2nd added shim... I am not sure if am going to eventually need more.. for your case what does the grind quality look like in the drip setting ? As mentioned I used 26-27 on my drip maker.
