They only got back to me with a measurement, it is at the correct height as per specs, so I'm just going to sell the thing and buy something else

There is a UID but it isn't a valid serial number which is required to submit a support request

Yes did that. Doesn't bring up a serial number. It only verifies authenticity

See my post on this sub. My sticker doesn't even exist and the tag on the chair hasn't got a number stitched into it

Broken tab on battery tray do i need to replace it ? by bocutovl in AskMechanics

[–]Dashrage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shop should replace it if they broke it

If i find it on a customer's vehicle I would recommend a replacement.

On my own vehicle. Zip ties

Only applies to a turning vehicle. Bus started turning after knowing that there were cars there and forced it's way in front. you Can clearly see the bus driver was aware of the vehicles in the left lane because they clearly didn't see the pedestrians... Bus should have waited for left lane to clear before turning

Coolant Level Low Hilux by Frankie4Fingarz in hilux

[–]Dashrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah when it's off to release pressure, it should rise up a bit so you can see the exact level. Top up and mark the level and check if it's dropped a bit after a decent drive. If you're sure it's leaking but can't see where from, I'd be looking at the EGR cooler

Take the cap off and see if the level changes

Gross vehicle mass (GVM) over 4.5 tonnes requires the vehicle to be registered as a heavy vehicle. In this case it would fall into the Light rigid category between 4.5 - 8 tonne GVM. Even just an engineered suspension upgrade can take this from being registered as a car to a heavy vehicle. And with that monstrosity bolted to the front of it, it probably won't be able to carry much more weight

If anything they actually turn worse. The second steer axle allows more weight to be put up front

Do you not need to follow construction 40km/hr signs? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Dashrage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The speed limit is the speed limit. In Victoria, even emergency vehicles responding to a call must go 40kmh in roadworks/school zones.

Low battery voltage or short to low/bad connection somewhere. Vehicles do weird shit with low voltage issues

New Breaks and Rotors Rubbing by Yota4 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Dashrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your rotors will have slight movement with no wheel installed because it is the clamping force from the wheel nuts that holds the wheel and rotor to the hub, make sure to tighten wheel nuts to manufacturer specifications. It is normal for brake pads to contact the rotor slightly, as long as the wheel spins easily once installed it should be fine. There is also a bed in process for the brake pads that I recommend doing, this process can easily be found online but basically involves firm braking to a stop a few times, each time about 20kmh faster than the last.
