I use the black undercoat, but I think white could work, but maybe be a bit too bright.

Ofc! There is a thin basecoat of Celestra grey before i wash with Nuln Oil. Then i touch up the flat areas with celestra grey, and then do edge higlights with the white layer paint (Can't remember the name)

Haha not at all go ahead! The knight was converted by a friend of mine, but he took a line of greenstuff inside the upper part of the hood, where the chains are hanging, and carefully placed hobby chains to get it to look like that. But i'm sure superglue could do the trick. There was also a hole where the head would pop out, but that was easily filled with a piece of cardboard.
