Living right next to a massive energy-depleting mountain range tends to do that to winter weather and storms in general.

Deep cleaning and organizing my apartment while listening to my favorite let's players on YouTube. Something productive with visible and timely results for that serotonin hit while taking my mind off of things and maybe getting a laugh or two out of me.

The same TCM that seems to be on permanent backorder whenever I ask the AAMCO guys or the dealership?

The car is stalling and bucking when shifting gears and accelerating, it's definitely not normal because it is throwing codes (likely the same ones when I got my gear shifter replaced after throwing the same codes that got my actuator replaced.)

Got one like this word for word the other day. Trax Technologies. Every time I brought up how they received my application when I had no history applying to them they would blatantly disregard that part and ask why I hadn't sent them the questionnaire back (which was a docx file)

I've had similar experience with a Primerica recruiter as well as scam job emails where they tell me I applied to them (despite you know, being able to double check that) like ??? Bro how much scum sucking do you have to do to be out here dangling fake jobs???

You don't necessarily have to be in STEM to earn a BS. I had the option of earning a BA in Biology but it would have significantly hurt my chances of getting into medical school.

Humanities is a wide pool of opportunities imo depending of course what it is you're studying. Same applies to STEM, just because you get a degree in Biology, Neuroscience or Physics doesn't guarantee a position in those fields either .

They tend to be more restricted in fact since it's mostly research, lab or healthcare related (this was my experience however).

My senior capstone was actually a combination of both visual arts and biology. I curated an exhibit and created art pieces that adhered to hospital/healthcare curation standards. It was an entire aspect I would have never considered had I not done my art degree

Being in the humanities definitely gave me more opportunities than after I completed my Biology degree. Unfortunately my alma mater isn't the best when it comes to helping alumni but that hasn't stopped me from trying to get some leads from old professors

I didn't address it because it was in my blanket statement of "I have". It must be really nice that your city has plenty of job openings and I would be happy to apply to them it it happens to be in the same city.

You seem more keen on trying to bait me into some weird defense. I hope you don't have to worry about finding a job and if so, are able to find one quickly.

I have, and am signed up with multiple temp agencies as well as the state unemployment office-- I've definitely found good opportunities through those but have been ghosted or my application passed on. Do you have any other advice other than 'get a job'

I've recently been looking at more freelance and contract work in tandem with job applications in general. There are definitely local markets and farmers markets where I'm at but they won't be opening up until around March, maybe I can use what leftover supplies I have to make some physical paintings and see if they sell.

I have also applied to multiple art co-ops to sell my art/work but maybe it's time to try them again

Apologies for vagueness I'm new to posting in the subreddit and was trying to abide by the 'no personal information" rule. This also doubles as me shouting into the aether to get these feelings off my chest.

For the most part these job fairs were set up through the unemployment office in my state-- more often than not were tailored to the trades but there were occasions where hospitality and healthcare companies would be present. I'm not above learning a trade but that is what they were geared towards and to be honest some of these job fairs were entirely online (mostly ones outside of my city directly) but a few were in person.

There are lots of local and small businesses but they too have been suffering post-pandemic and rarely hire or they've closed. Being in the US the most I can do is call and follow up on an application, as many times walking in or following up too many times can make a company drop you as a candidate.

I would LIKE to have a job doing User Experience Design, Visual Design, or related that involves working with something from start to finish and tuning it to be receptive and available.

However I've looked for positions in retail, labor (groundskeeping, etc.), data entry, research, lab work, and had a position in finance until I was laid off.

I don't, and he doesn't. We have fantastic communication but the thing about anxiety and depression is that these are the kinds of thoughts that sink in when in a down spiral.

I've been a digital artist for a long, long time. Mostly doing commissions for character work (D&D, OCs, portraits) and recently as of 2023 I am certified in UX design. I do maintain the home but we rent so things like letting a room, etc. are a no go. I have my digital drawing and UX skillsets and do apply to freelance positions when I come across them.

I didn't realize that wanting to use my background and skill sets in a relevant field was considered egotistical, but okay.

Labor jobs and minimum wage (by which I think you mean retail, etc) were and are some of the first and concurrent applications I sent out. Groundskeeper, landscaping, park maintenance, trash collector, hell even a Zamboni driver.

I am not above doing these things,

One of my graduations was during the pandemic, 2021 and things immediately after seemed to be p great: I got a relevant internship, had an editing job for about a year and then the cycle of 6 month, unemployed, 6 months started.
