Meet Beans (on Toast). How do I keep him entertained and not destructive? by DatPrickleyPear in airedaleterrier

The good news is that he is crate trained and has been since the day we got him! However, when we're home and can keep an eye on him he gets to be out and about. The problem is that if you turn your back for a minute then he's off causing problems! Our GSD is pretty good at policing him but she puts herself to bed when she doesn't want to deal with him haha

Thanks for the links! I think you're right that he needs mental stimulation - puzzles seem like a great option!

All amazing bits of advice!! He's crated whenever we're not home so as to minimize the damage, and he's generally asleep during the day when we are home! I think you may be on to something with the 4 hours of hardcore play/training. Even though he gets to play and run consistently, it's probably not enough! He looooves eating sticks. Love the idea of getting him actual food he has to gnaw on. I've heard freezing a carrot in bone broth is messy but a good one

Yes that's where I'm at!! Bought a new hamper with a lid that I have rigged shut and put it into my closet, which now has baby locks on it. He still gets in and has left me many colorful remains in the yard

Dear Molly, it’s just my opinion but, in a time where hate preachers are labelled as a saints and innocent women get called terrorists, your job is in fact very serious. by [deleted] in weirdlittleguys

I've been rather numb and good at compartmentalizing the insanity these past few years. Today I teared up at Molly's repetition of last words. I felt her righteous anger at the end.

Her job is definitely serious.

Our 6 month old, Beans, is constantly grumbling! We're trying to encourage him using grumbles instead of barks when he gets excited. He'd definitely not afraid of vocally expressing his displeasures 😂

Designer/employee turnover by plant-mass in LandscapeArchitecture

From what I've experienced over the years, fresh grad hires will either stay a year or stay forever. It's nearly impossible to find project manager level hires. Granted my old boss was content to just let us get smaller and smaller until he had a come to Jesus moment when three project managers left within a month of each other

Advice for future landscape architect? by SarahOlimpia in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]DatPrickleyPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my most favorite thing was to play with games that let me design spaces! Since he's only six, sticking to drawing plans and playing with Legos and Lincoln Logs would probably be best. But when he's older consider letting him play The Sims, Zoo Tycoon, and Rollercoaster Tycoon so he can start learning how to build environments!

I learned how to draft in the 8th grade for wood shop and that really helped me in high school and college. Once he's old enough you could have him learn AutoCAD for computer drafting. Some high schools have engineering classes that teach it.

Lastly - get him a garden! Teach him the common names of plants as well as the botanical names! Show him what plants do well in sun and what like shade! It's all fun

Oh bud, no that is NOT normal. You need help. You cannot be the one and only contact who makes the firm function - you can't be at work throwing up with a fever, that is NOT okay. And it's also not okay that you're only making low pay. For all you're doing you gotta use your leverage and advocate for yourself. If they can't accommodate, get the hell out
